it's for the other guys. they don't have much experience with luka, in particular, and playing with him is quite different than playing with most other guys. watching gs get reps with their geriatric core while we sit a non-injured luka was a bit frustrating. the first two preseason games were absolutely useless in basically all ways. a bunch of guys playing roles they won't be playing when the games count. a bunch of lineups that will never see the floor together unless something disastrous has occurred.
Players need time to play together to get in sync Tough to use the first 10 games of the season to do this as wins and loses at the first part of the year are as important as the ones at the end of the year Sounds like AI
I agree to an extent but did feel the Lakers were trying to overcompensate for not having great POA which left the bigs open for 3's or dunks. Gobert running wild on PnR was as much about the ball handler needing help as the lack of size. I think Ayton helps this a lot despite his mediocre pre-season but I'd prefer to get a POA defender as well as the West comes at you with different strengths
The majority of the playoffs roster is back. Ayton is the new guy, that will get a lot of PT right away. He's a big, run the floor and be a big dude. He'll be alright, I'm unconcerned.
