i've only been able to see highlights, but he basically looks like he did before the calf injury, which, it turns out, did not in fact end his career.

man, that guy really had it in the bag and just...got in his own way. dallas was in great position for long-term contention, imo.

they had a very sensible luka/pj/lively frontcourt with kyrie as a bridge second star in the backcourt who would eventually cycle out for complementary guards. and nico just couldn't handle the cultural/interpersonal differences between his vision and luka's nature. add in novice owners and you got a complete meltdown. i'm not even sure winning the flagg sweepstakes will fix it, tbh (though if anything could, that's it).

I couldn't agree more. You nailed it. Someone asked me if Flagg would draw me back in. Nope. That shipped sailed. I'm a Lakers fan now.

the mavs have been my adopted second team for 25 years, and i have trouble mustering enthusiasm for them now even though they got flagg and have AD, who was one of my favorites before he even became a laker. i just think that franchise can't move on until harrison is gone. every single thing he does is just sort of tainted by the luka trade--like i find myself questioning all they do. hell, it's quite clear that they don't really have a good plan with their crowded frontcourt already. "we'll just play flagg or washington at the 2!" good lord.

anyway, this is the luka thread--money would have slovenia out today, right?

if they don't excel as catch and shoot (rarely) play hard defense role and shut ur pie hole, he has just traditionally traded them.

With the GM's permission of course. But now, with new guys calling the shots and old man on his last legs, it's anyone's guess what will be happening.
