Yeah LOL they give them like 3 days practice ;) and then start pre-season games.

    :Sunglassguy:

Looking for reports out of practice on how Bronny is competing. He knows he has to earn time in practice and no doubt will be busting his balls.

Worst was the bubble. They ended season championship in October and season started in December. That was a joke. Which I think led to ADs injuries. Not nearly enough recovery.

On the other hand, I think it helped us win the championship that season because both Lebron and AD were as healthy as possible during the bubble.

Yeah, everyone knows the real champs that year were the Clippers

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Trade Would Be Welcome

Jacob Rude of the SB Nation site “proposes trading away Gabe Vincent and Maxi Kleber to bring back KCP to the Lakers, a sentimental move, given that he never should have been forced to leave in the first place. Caldwell-Pope was a big factor in the Lakers winning the 2020 NBA “Bubble” championship during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He writes: “Lakers fans have seen how well KCP plays next to stars firsthand. Even if his game has dropped off, he’s still a 3&D wing and you can never have too many of those. It’s a far more useful way for the Lakers to spend their money than on Vincent and Kleber.

“With KCP having a player option for next season, the Lakers could save the Grizzlies some long-term money by sending them two expiring contracts. Gabe Vincent is a lot more expendable with the arrival of Marcus Smart while Maxi Kleber is the third center on the roster.”

If we can't get anything else at the deadline with Gabe + Kleber + Knecht, I'd consider Gabe + Kleber and no draft capital for KCP. KCP certainly isn't what he was a few years ago with us, but I'm willing to consider that last year was just a down year in a clunky Magic offense.

Don't know that I'd actually do it, though. I think he and Gabe might just be equivalent players now.

yeah, and i'm not taking on any salary past this year unless it's a long-term keeper. kcp isn't that.

if a young guy in that salary range that fits with luka comes available, i'm in. otherwise, i'll just preserve the flexibility, much to the chagrin of many fans, of course.

Yeah, I just don't see KCP as a huge difference maker at this point. And I don't like sending out our backup big for another guard either. This is not the consolidation trade we are looking for.

I am happy for the Bubble Championship. I was just saying the worst recovery was the bubble. It was ridiculous. Because they could’ve started the season on MLK! it was the NBA that pushed that.

so a potential back to back was ruined. But hey we got that championship.

KCP's strong play in the bubble made people forget how much they were s***ting on him in the years prior to that

The financial side of things just doesn’t exist for these talking heads does it? Dalton and a 2nd and where does the other 24m of salary matching come from?

yeah, a wiggins deal basically has to involve rui--unless miami would take vando, which i doubt. ironically, if vando went out for wiggins, we'd technically be losing athleticism and defense...

i'm also VERY dubious of the podcaster guy's claims about wiggins's current athleticism and defensive status. much like kcp, those days are likely behind him. we need guys for whom the best days are ahead, or we need to just roll with what we have.

Wiggins is still only 30, but i get he has a lot of NBA miles. We might have that person you mentioned in somebody like Thierro, Manon, or even Vando still. We just need one of them to be able to hit at least on-third of their three-pointers, and on decent volume. With that said, I would be wiling to trade Rui + Knecht + 2030 swap for Wiggins. You get the ready-now player and you still have the defensive players with developing shots off the bench.

yeah, i'm still really iffy on wiggins overall because even if he's still got it physically, his mentality has been a career-long issue, imo. he sort of drifts in and out of focus. when he's been locked in, he's been really good as a role player. but that's been pretty rare, actually. most of the time, he's been disappointing, which is why he's moved so much and miami has been trying to move him basically since he got there.

I’m hesitant to take any players with the stench of Miami Heat on them. Our track record with South Beach lately hasn’t been stellar.
