Our needs were clear heading to the offseason. Center, wing defender, depth.

We addressed center. Still got to work on the other two.

Teams got time and I’m not worried. We still have some assets to work with to improve the team some more. I still expect a trade and/or buyout move. I maintain that Beal is the holdup. Once that resolves itself I expect movement across the league.

Sports are a results driven business though. Front office just needs to get it done and fans will be happy. Not interested or debating about how hard they tried to get deals or signings done. Almost doesn’t count.

Wing defender or POA for the speedy PGs? LaRavia is the wing defender replacing DFS. POA we’re still waiting to see who FO has targeted. In meantime Vando, Goodwin and Vincent with “possibly” Thiero and Bronny sightings depending on how they come along …. for regular season. Surprise us Rob with a good get.

It would’ve been irresponsible to offer DFS a 4 yr. Deal. And cost yourself possible flexibility for Jokic or Gianiss.

it just makes no sense then you would have to attach a asset to the salary to get off it. Like a Knect Thiero any young asset you have a 2031 pick.

And after Luol Deng the Lakers would never do that again. DFS averaged 7 points a game last season. And I know he had impact. Tremendous impact but you can’t tie 4 yrs. To him.

we might get same production LaRavia 2 yrs. Younger and 23 years old that’s way better. Where not calling him Toni Kucoch but he does a job.

Yes but DFS signed a very flexible contract with Houston. 2 years guaranteed and can be cut anytime after that. His starting figure is super low too. Perfect contract for him - just a total head scratcher.

Unless they thought Ayton wouldn’t have signed for the TPMLE at 5.4m per.

DFS might also have signed a contract with HOU he didn't want to accept from the Lakers and considered insulting, just to save face. If (as reported) the negotiations went bad, I could totally see that being the case.

highly likely this happened. Those last two years are completely fake, and I bet we floated a two-year deal early which kicked off the contentious vibe.

whatever, I think we came out better than had he accepted.

Can we just trade for Thybulle and maybe one other player for depth and call it a good off season? I think so.

    Make it happen Rob

Welp as Slick says we’ll have at least one roster spot available one way or another in 6 days.
