Losing one of his good friends to start the offseason isn't exactly great for the August sales pitch.

Luka will be fine he doesn't strike me as the emo type.

    :D ;)

Walters is about kicking butt and getting better, not overpaying for declining players no matter how well they've played in the past and great in the clubhouse they've been. Lots of examples with the Dodgers of key players for years who are no longer here.

That is true but it is much harder to replace players in the NBA, too many restrictions and limitations. It will be interesting to see how Walter is able to navigate the NBA waters.

acceleration is a very generous term. Let’s just go with “shift of momentum“

Nah. I'm not a bit worried about Luka getting a tear. He does a lot of start and stop BUT he doesn't lean in hard like you see these guys doing when they tear. He is more of an upright player.

When Tyrese tore his achilles he was heavily leaned in and dropped his foot flat. Luka doesn't do that.
Most of the time Luka will drive at an angle from the left or right and on his toes. Tyrese goes straight on and will plant his drive foot completely. That along with the calf injury did him in.

Luka hardly ever is flat footed. Usually only when he is side to side or sets to shoot.

Loved this one. Just trying to replicate what they had.

I think Luka should be ecstatic with the Ayton signing. He should get a lot of assists with Ayton with the pick and roll or lobs or pick and pop for a mid range jumper.

Luka isn't going anywhere. He will definitely sign that contract.

Luka loves to have the lob threats on the floor. Well we DO have us some …. do we not?

LeBron, Ayton, Hayes, Rui, LaRavia, Thiero. Should be possible any time he’s on the floor to have at least 2 out there and even others when they time it right as this roster practices and gels. That won’t suck.

No excuse to sit out at the three line all day.

They should be driving to the basket and getting lob tosses from Luka

On paper our starters average 100 ppg. That's no slouch. Honestly I think Ayton's points could go up. Our bench is a little weak on scoring but LaRavia should help there. A healthy Kleiber might as well. And Vando, Gabe and Goodwin should add some D. I don't see Dalton getting much burn.

Yeah, I still think we could use a more offensively dependable(at least behind the arc) version of Goodwin, but maybe we won’t need one if he ups his game.
