Awful basketball for long moments of the game. Bronny with a good start and a bad overall game on the offensive side. I like his shooting form, and he's a very interesting defensive player. Flagg with a bad debut: interesting flashes but nothing compared to the hype he's carrying on.
Anyone else think when Bronny was matched up on Flagg on D that for some reason it did not look like Mutt and Jeff size wise? And definitely Jr’s been in the weight room with his 220lb frame. It’s inevitable that at some point this year …. just 2 years in from his heart episode wrecked college season …. @OX1947 will have to again admit he was wrong, this time with the Bronny will “never” be an NBA player. He’ll get some minutes that aren’t garbage time. We’re even on Mozgov Buddy!
I've really liked what Bronny brought in the Dallas game. Great offensive energy to start, with the quick 5 points over Flagg. Then turned his attention to the defensive matchup. Taking on Flagg, not letting him back him down and the enjoyment he took of that matchup and moment. Crowd was loving it. He's gotten bigger and stronger. Job's not done, but he's already showing the effort and desire to put in that work (just like pops tought him). Really think the ceiling is prime Marcus Smart here. Floor is Avery Bradley.
See ^^^ even that still of the 2nd clip above .... either Flagg isn't the 6'8-9" he's listed at or Bronny is taller in shoes than listed / or maybe still growing? There's the angle of course but look how close together they are. But then actually watching that 2nd clip I guess we can see the 4-5" difference there. JSM, "prime Marcus Smart" .... with a 40.5" vertical and maybe going higher as "man muscles" develop in coming years >>> compared to Smart's 36".
In his best season, Bradley was 1st Team All-Defense, 6th in DPOY voting and was 15ppg on decent shooting splits. Let's pump the brakes a bit lol, the kid isn't even a back-end of the rotation NBA player yet.
He will continue to get stronger and quicker from training and technique. Talking 2-4 years from now. He’s going to be a force to be reckoned with. IF not sooner! That’s the thing.
Yeah I can see him being a real contributor in a few years, but I want to set realistic expectations. When Max showed some solid flashes his rookie year a lot of folks (me included) were penciling him in as the every-day backup 2 guard. Turned out he wasn't quite ready for that, but 1/3 of the way into Year 3 he started to look like that guy. As with any 2nd round pick, if Bronny ever becomes a solid contributor to a rotation it would be a win.
Solid win for us today, Koloko looked solid, Bazley was good again and had 5 blocks, Bronny played some good defense, made some nice passes.
As good as he has been looking he was 4-12 from the FT line Needs to work on that part of his game Can't afford to leave so many points on the floor https://www.espn.com/nba-summer-league/boxscore/_/gameId/401793901/league/nba-summer-las-vegas
Bazley and Bronny continue to show me stuff that's encouraging. That's about it from this crew. Bazley deserves a roster spot. He's more valuable at the minimum than Vando is at $11.5m. I'm serious. In today's market, Vando is a minimum to BAE level player. Bronny’s defense is ready for rotation minutes, offense still needs to catchup. 3s not falling but man, the shot looks a lot better. And he's averaging a couple a game that bounce out vs being air balls last year. Swider can put up 60 and it's a yawn from me. He's a great shooter, but he's so bad defensively and from an athletic perspective that I don't think he's rosterable on a non lottery team. Go to Washington or Charlotte and lock up that 10th/11th man role. In April they'll start you to secure the tank.
