I agree that Clarkson should be given the rest of the summer league off. he's shown what he can do, and he doesn't really have things to prove at this level. let the browns and Russell get their reps and let buycks audition for other teams. don't risk a Clarkson injury on a useless stretch of games in which nobody seems to be learning anything.

same for tarik black. he's shown what he can do, and he's been good in real nba games. randle and Upshaw need the time and experience.

That was the first game I was able to watch live. I'm going through it again on the DVR right now. Very little to like the first time through and now into the 3rd quarter the second time through and the lack of fundamental understanding of the game is glaring in Russell and Nance.

    Ready, fire aim.

How are they going to get their rest? This was the issue in the last game.... right?

I couldn't watch this game again, was at work. I might have to stop going to work during the regular season if this keeps up.

Not what I was talking about. Certain player struggles in the last game were blamed on back to back games and a practice. Now ragged play is the result of no practice. Sometimes crap play is crap play.

Running no plays was the mistake mark.

Zero movement, zero effort, zero direction.

I really don't buy the idea to let go almost all your last players. I think we have to keep a few, especially guards, who know coach's system as mentors. It takes a longer time for the young players to grow.

So how does Summer League work? Apparently we've played all the games that were scheduled and now there is a tournament? Did we qualify for the tournament? When is the next game?

So far it's been all talk/hype, not seeing it on the court...certainly not in Julius or Russell. Clarkson is the only one giving me hope. That being said, I do try to remind myself that these are very young men with pretty much zero NBA experience, so expectations must be kept in check.

From what I understand every team qualifies for the tournament, which is 1 game elimination from here on out. The first 3 games decide seeding. Here's the link for all the details:

They'd probably all look bad right now with this system.

None of these players except Mudiay are expected to run the offense. All these guys are NBA-ready type players with very little adjustment needed to the next level.

And with no system in place as stated above, he's gonna struggle.
