Ok Brooklyn, you've got a new center and now you can simply renounce the rights to Day'Ron Sharpe.

Dear sirron .... any way we could commission you during the dog days of the off season to give us one of THESE below especially for that jack***? He's got the most punchable face and voice and style of anyone on the planet.

And that gif would get a lot of use around here giving sooo much enjoyment IMO.  :giggle:

i'm not sure why fleming made it to the second round. i'm still a fan of small, despite him being...well, small.

i'm not very familiar with the others, but i trust mike.

in that we didn't get into the first round or that the clips took our interesting prospect?

i guess i'm not super disappointed because we've done our best work with buying into the second and udfas.

i was a little annoyed when it looked like sac bought into the first round, but then i saw they traded okc a future first (heavily protected, okc just kicked the can down the road) and was like...if we didn't see anyone worth moving in for, i'll trust the scouts. or maybe we've seen someone and are waiting for the second round or the udfa market.

my disappointment was the lack of trades of actual players. i felt like last night would be the night for moves, especially with bkn having all those picks (their roster is almost full of unproven players at this moment, and they have a lot of money to spend to get to the salary floor).

watching phx get mark williams also hurt. the fact that he went for a bit less (imo) than what we offered may be telling, though...

Trade up or buy a pick to nab one. Both are better than the bigs still left. We are operating from an extreme deficit in athleticism and perimeter defense. If there's one thing the later rounds of the playoffs showed, it's that both are needed to be in the mix.

yeah, i'm not a big believer in drafting for position, anyway. if you can get fleming without giving up anything of value (no 1sts or knecht), go get him.

my guess is he comes off the board early, though. like when i (and i think we) wanted nembhard and the stupid pacers got him.

posted in the other thread, but i'll repeat here that the timing is weird. usually, we pay for the pick as it's made, so we know exactly who it is.

I think it is just to have us higher up so we get 10 more guys to choose from. We may even use this one to trade up again

Yeah, if you can rinse and repeat this move, you get into the 30's and maybe get Fleming or Thiero.

the latter makes more sense to me. it's not like we're in desperate need to just...develop anyone. as much as i'm in disbelief about the nets' pick situation, i get that they've basically got nothing and need to conjure up some players somehow. we're not really there, imo. we don't have a ton of developmental space, and we already have some guys i expect to be prioritized (bronny, koloko). this makes me think we have someone specific in mind.
