Definitely agree. I even think there's minutes next year for a guy like Johnie Broome given our injury history. Great rebounder, 4 yr player, national player of the year candidate. If one of Lebron, Rui or Vando missed time (they most likely will) I think he could be pretty productive and can step out and hit the three.

If it's a late second round investment we're after, I'm all for Izan Almansa or Amari Williams. If we move up to the late 1st/early 2nd I'd go for Neiderhauser or Yang.

i'm also back to arguing that koloko was kind of a sneaky draft pick/development project, right? like are we sure all the guys we're discussing could beat him out for a roster spot?

I like Koloko quite a bit actually. I’m just not convinced he has the defensive potential we need or the strength.

I feel like with Luka, Austin and more often than not LeBron on the floor we need to stop switching and run drop coverage more often. Not sure Koloko is smart enough reading those plays or springy enough to recover when he messes up.

Hey OG … my BAD (I have a lot of them [IMG] [IMG] ) .... I keep confusing you with @audiosway . The Bynum and Jordan Hill drafted comments seemed surprising to me in that regard. I have NO idea how long YOU have been a Lakers fan.

Spurs have had a great draft, unfortunately. Bryant is a great fit there.

Pelicans just gifted the Hawks a great draft pick next year. Queen better be a star.

NBA Champs just drafted a very serviceable big (Sorber)...of course.

Suns were aggressive securing the center position.

Plus: teams are drafting centers, meaning there might be more FAs for us to pick from.
Negative: teams are seeing bigs unavailable and flying off the market already, so they're flocking to the draft to address the position.

Blazers just drafted Yang to sell jerseys. HOLY s***. He was in the mix for us at 55, they take him at 16. SIXTEEN!

yeah, if you want a project center, the guy taken right after yang (Beringer) is the guy, right? like his upside is star--it's far away, but the athletic tools are there.

Both Chepkevich (Draft Express) and Mike Garcia (Canyon Driver) think Heat have the steal of the draft/stole one.

...Unless they want to give him to us in a Wiggins deal.

yeah, i like the lithuanian guy. i think the concern is he'll never be a defender. think he needs to get substantially stronger, too.

that drake powell is giving herb jones, though, right?

all in all, LOTS of really skinny guys being taken in the first round.

Yeah, if we were to trade into the first and took a wing instead of a big, Powell was the guy I liked. Followed by Clifford. Then Thiero.

Some bulkier guys coming late 1st/early 2nd unless there's some more Blazers style picks that are completely out of nowhere.

OKC just drafted someone labeled as a "poor man's Caruso"

Teams that won 'ship this week shouldn't have just landed two players who can make an immediate impact on their team in the first round.

Now I feel bad for him.

Wishful thinking it makes Ellis more available. Or they come off their 1st round pick demands in a Carter trade.

I'd love to get Ellis. Wouldn't cry about settling on Carter.

Pelicans are really dumb. Hawks still got there guy at 23. Some buzz they were willing to take Newell at 13 (nbadraft.net reported they made a promise to take him) and he was still there at 23 AND they got an unprotected first in the process.

I also have no idea what the Nets are doing right now.
