russ made more on a smaller cap, though. plus he was a terrible fit. holiday is a near ideal fit (i'd prefer someone a bit quicker, but that's getting nitpicky, tbh). this guy has been THE difference maker on two of the past four title teams (as in, they added him, and then they won, and it was definitely related to his addition). russ had been statting it up on bad teams for large chunks of the seasons prior to us acquiring him.

phx's beal trade was a russ trade. i don't view holiday like that.

again, it's moot, as i don't think we really have a shot at getting him anyway.

little bit of deck chair shuffling; i like it more for NO from a talent perspective, but washington needs adults in the room over there, so middleton and mccollum will be nice counterbalances to the young guys.

No need for the FO to overthink this. Replacing Gabe with Thybulle and Capela for Hayes would be a huge step in the right direction.

That's natural. In big trades you gotta giveaway something so we are losing in those departments

Interesting from NOLA perspective. Wonder what they are thinking. I would love to have a bite on Herb or Trey, but Bane's trade set the market too high for us, I guess

They can still trade him if they want to though, right?

We have needs. But we don’t have to give up the farm.

Ayton isn’t commanding a Shaq return. Portland is moving their expiring. That’s what we should look at.

Porzingis is a big. There’s ways you can do three team deals.

These deals are relatively small while getting us our big.

Those other trades out there seem so big were giving up so much.

If he didn't pick up the option, he would be an FA. So this news means that he is now confirmed as a trade candidate

But you have to send Rui out because of the salary. It will have to be a 3 for 1 deal almost. And Portland is going to want Rui so I’m not giving up Rui for a one year rental at center.

washington's adult in the room is now the geriatric ward - they're clearing out cap space for some major move next year.

So unless there’s a missing element, does that give Brooklyn 5 FRPs and a high 2nd (#36) in this draft?

I could see Kelly Olynyk as someone who can be had for Kleiber + future 2nds

I can see the disappointment of the people who wanted KP here!

I can see the nets using those army of picks to move up to get Ace Bailey.

I think Porzingis is basically done. I have a theory as to why, but wish him a full recovery regardless. Getting banished to ATL has to sting a little.

Sounds like Clint Capela is bound to join us then since the Hawks got KP!

Washington going to be able to buy a whole new team next summer

Teams made this way too easy for Boston.
