GOGA COULD DUNK THE BALL, WHICH IS GOOD. BUT IS HE GOING TO BE SUFFICIENT LOB THREAT OFE LUKA?

You are right. We owe the 2027 to Utah, so that would violate the Stepian rule. Imo, Brooklyn would prefer another first over Knecht.

My whole premise is we save assets by going for Goga instead of the others. What does this mean? We can get another center!

It’s not Goga or bust. If all it took was an expiring and a pick swap + #55, I’d be happy to roll with Goga and hope Capela is in our range or get Jericho Sims on a minimum.

I think one of Orlando's goals is to cut salary (given they have to pay Banchero), they are likely going to ask to us eat money from them to get Goga. I'm not sure if Knecht is someone they would covet since they are in win now mode given the weakness of the East. Perhaps they should've offered us KCP/Howard/Goga and 4 picks for Reaves/Kleber/Vincent lol.

Re Portland, we are probably going to have trade two or three of Rui/Vando/Kleber/Vincent to match Aytons 35 million dollar expiring. Timelord for one of those aforementioned players (+/- picks) seems more realistic and easier to get done.

With new ownership, I think we are more likely to be willing to eat money and pay taxes compared to before.

Goga would be the back-up center. I get that. Yanic would be the third string.

I was thinking about the bolded earlier today, what is Isaac's value right now? He's got 4 years at $15M per and it's really tough to determine his trade value right now. Lengthy injury history and while he's coming off a 70 game season, his shooting regressed significantly. Does including him increase or reduce the asking price from Orlando's side?

Man f*** that nonsense. So if we don't get past the 1st or 2nd rd next season, is it then time, for Luka to peace out? That s*** ridiculous. Mark Walter says that he'd rather spend the money in order to win, than count his pennies. " I'd much rather overpay, than not spend enough, if it leads to winning ".

Nah..I totally don't expect Lebron James, to be considered to be making too much money, by our new owner. He's still playing at an All NBA level.

NOPE..not at all, The LeBron hating Kobe stans, should be looking at Pinocchio IMO. The last 3 playoff series losses, seem to fall on coaching and the roster according to the "experts" and fans. There is one guy responsible for both, his name isn't LeBron James.

Stars do win, and role players are replaceable. Look at the last 7 NBA Champions.

    Ultimate Trade:

    Rui + Knecht + Kleiber + 2032 1st + #55 to Utah for Collins + #21 + our 2027 1st back. We could then trade 2026,2028,and 2030 in another trade.

    compare it to "mid" goga.

the key is to get these guys BEFORE they blow up and get big money.

That's too much for John Collins. Sounds fair enough for Collins and Kessler though.

8M for Goga or 11M for Wagner coming off of an ACL injury? Sounds like a no brainer, for a team looking to cut salary. Warner might be on his way elsewhere.

if he wasn't franz's brother. that's the only way we could make this work. people who pay attention know goga can start, and yes, orlando also has first-hand knowledge of this. but that payroll is about to explode a bit, too.

My only thing with goga is he hasn’t proven that he can be a solidified starting center for the course of an entire season. And if you are trading for a center then you need to be solving your starting center position. I don’t think you give up current and also future assets for a guy you don’t know 100% can be your starter throughout the season/postseason.

It seems the Magic fans say he's a must keep given Mo Wagners ACL tear and he does what Vanderbilt does for them and can guard 3-5's.

yeah, my point was hartenstein was there two years ago. and the ideas here were just one current asset (knecht).

the funny part is that half the reaction has been that it's an overpay and the other half has been that it's unrealistic to get him for that.

Yeah I do think given the reality of being the Lakers, trading Knecht for Goga would be something we'd have to do given teams aren't going to give us anything easy.

Something tells me they may just wait it out and see how Wagner does before trading Goga though.
