pick better replacements? you really still think carusos are growing on trees? we had THE guy that people want for this role. he's basically like having jrue holiday, tbh. with what we had/have at our disposal, you can't replace that. again, most of us knew that and said it then. we were all right.

i'm trying to play by slick's rules that we're not allowed to consider the possibility that the gm can't just do whatever they want here.

i agree that our cheapness was a huge reason why caruso walked, but it was still a choice. we signed nunn (klutch) and THT (klutch) so similar money the same summer. so either it was gross miscalculation or just continued klutch appeasement.

it's hard to argue we didn't come out on top overall in our relationship with klutch, but wow, that was a price to pay if it was part of the decision making process.

Is he better than Williams? I mean Dalton and a 1st was the deal we offered for him.

Rob can take that blame getting rid of the only guy that could can guard Jokic Dwight Howard who was just as responsible for that bubble championship as Anthony Davis and getting rid of Javelle Mgee ima give you that. Who could watch tape and say Dwight should not have been retained.

Jeanie didn't tell him to pick Tucker. Lol..it's CRAZY how that logic, doesn't apply to Magic though!

The Westbrook KCP Kuzma trade I will never get. When you could’ve just bought Caruso back.

imo, no. he also really isn't the guy we need, as he's more of a sf/bigger wing. we really need a super fast perimeter defender. they can be a bit smaller.

i think camara will be, as jsm indicated, another guy portland is too proud of.

but if they're going to prioritize camara, hopefully that means thybulle is available. that's the guy i want from them. he's a POA defender, and he shot 43% from three on three attempts per last year!

it's too bad portland is both irrational and hates us, as i think there are legit sensible possibilities with them having a logjam at center with clingan/ayton/williams and at g/f with sharpe/camara/thybulle.

None of that was Pinocchio's fault, that was all dictated to him, by our shadow GM, Lebron James.

    Abeer (probably).

You wanna talk Laker drama???? I can write a book on this.

You think Frank Vogel wasn’t hot????? You fire me. And then trade all of my guys. And think I’m gonna win with that???? Everything I hang my hat on coaching defense. You got rid of all the length.

    Caruso Kuzma KCP Howard.

Scott Foster is an embarrassment to the NBA.
He watches the obvious block by Antman on replay and still gives him the foul.
Shortly after, he calls a tech on Chet for “celebrating too much” after a dunk. Im sick of these clowns making awful calls.

Absolutely that Nunn crap was all Klutch how we drafted and players we signed.

I’ll also give Rob credit on Max Christie a great 3-D guy he’s developing into. Great kid. Would’ve loved to keep him.

Caught up on some of the Laker pods this week:

-Woike was on Irwin's and threw out a couple of suggestions for the vet min: Exum and De'Anthony Melton. Wouldn't be against either of those. Melton was playing some great defense for GS before getting hurt, a good low risk add. Exum finally figured something out in Dallas and has played with Luka.

-LFR guys threw out some possible big options for MLE money or trade options in the same price bracket: Achiuwa, I. Jackson, Kornet, Bitadze.

They like a non big -- NAW, but aren't sure where he'll land $ wise.

Threw out the notion that Bruce Brown might be in a Trent place this summer where he's having to take the min on deal to showcase himself and play for that next contract. That's something I'd be in on. If you recall, and it's been discussed a lot on the recent Laker pods, Trent wanted to come here and Prince wanted to come back too. Both are talents > a minimum contract but we were out of roster spots thanks to our 10 POs that Rob handed out like Skittles. That's what I'm interested in...what vet is looking to come here on a showcase minimum deal. We have roster space this time around and with Luka, we SHOULD get at least one backup on a massive bargain.

-Buha ran threw the early list of bigs we're interested in. All the names we've heard -- Claxton, Gafford, Adams, Lopez, Capela, and (only news-y item) Sharpe. With his RFA status, I brought up curiosity about his status/interest level the other day.

Maybe just give Melton the entire 5.7 million TPMLE, just to ensure you get him. He is three and D and still relatively young, he is about to turn 27. Might have the inside track for him, since he is an L.A, native. Another idea is try to get this Walter Clayton Jr. kid in the draft. Brooklyn has like 9 picks in the draft so maybe we trade for #18 or something and get this kid. He is 22, and is a pure shooter, good defender, and athletic.

Yep right. That’s the great comparison. Everybody liked Caruso fan favorite. Really good. And did all the defensive assignments how could a team not see that??????

Brooklyn has #19 I believe. I wonder what it would take to get it.

It’s gross to me that this dude is gonna win a title. Really turns me off the modern NBA. I know it was never perfect, and guys are better shooters and more athletic than they’ve ever been, but it’s also never been more of a crafted product. Players protected from contact to a crazy degree, rewarded for flopping and grifting, it’s never felt more nerfed to me.
