This needs to be part of our pitch to teams this summer. Give us you best, we'll get you the #1 pick in the next draft.

    All fair points.

That’s not exactly what I was getting at here though. I’m really going back to my reluctance to us ever trying to do a full rebuild again. The lottery is unpredictable and a bad team can not really on getting a top pick to build their team back up.

Going even deeper in the weeds, I’ve never really been a lottery guy. So there’s that. Teams will tank and just personally prefer to order it based on record.

i'm with you on not building a team this way. i mean, again, look at charlotte. it's almost always been the plan, and it's never worked!

but i'm also in favor of a lottery, and of a flattened variety like the one now. i've seen some other systems that are interesting (e.g., the wheel, etc.), but i think just going purely based on record would have a serious threat of tarnishing the product. like it would almost certainly lead to some declines in the watchability of games, regularly.

Kind of cool, we increased our chances of getting Gafford now with Dallas getting Flagg. I know Flagg isn't a big per say, but he is a front court player that is going to command 30+ minutes. Also, now it won't be such a bad look if Rob/Nico make a trade. People are not feeling sorry for the Mavs anymore, and the narrative is many feel they actually got the better end of the trade now. Vincent + Knecht + 2026 swap +2031 1st for Gafford?

Would you trade Flagg for Giannis if you're Dallas?

Hell no. Imagine how badly Giannis would want out a year later when AD has a random fluke injury. Take the kid.

Funniest thing would be for the Lakers to trade Reaves and all their picks to get AD.
Cooper doesn't exactly fit the AD timeline. They should really blow it up as you knows when and how well Kyrie comes back

Jrue and KP are likely gone, IMO. It's going to be interesting to see how they get off the Jrue contract. He clearly lost a step.

Sounds good, but remember AD doesn't want to play center and that's what we really need

regular season; i actually thought holiday looked very good in the playoffs, particularly on defense, but also on the offensive boards. it's like if westbrook was smarter and could make enough shots to keep defenses honest. and didn't hand the ball to the opposition for fun.

Agreed. I think Giannis with AD is a very poor fit offensively too. both go for the same spots on the court. Dallas should probably try to get a good PG given Kyrie's ACL with their glut of wings and big men.

As for Boston, yeah they're gonna blow up the team. I doubt anyone really wants to trade for KP though. Dude has been injury prone and not doing much with some viral illness recently. Wouldn't shock me if they go with abeer's plan and dump Brown/White/Holliday for picks and assets.
