Too many cooks in the kitchen, plus Durant wouldn't want to be a 3rd option

we should shoot our shot for Giannis. Probably wont be enough but you never know Reaves + Knecht and probably Rui have value, and we're going to have 2 firsts available, right?

I love this. These are the exact guys I would want to move and fill those holes.

I personally wouldn't touch Durant. I think his move leaving OKC to go to GSW was the weakest thing I've ever seen in sport. It's like Ronaldo joining Barcelona to play with Messi, Iniesta and Xavi after they won 6 trophies in one season. Just so damn weak.

If we could do 3 moves based on the above. This would be a pipe dream for me:

    - Trade Rui, Kleber and 1st for Clayton (why they do it, for the first and expirings)
    - Trade Knecht & 2nds for Camara (why they do it, for Knecht)
    - Sign Portis to the MLE if he opts out (assuming bucks blow it up)

    Luka (46m) / Gabe (11.5m) / Bronny (1.95m)
    Reaves (13.9m) / Goodwin (2.35m)
    Camara (2.2m) / DFS (12m)
    Lebron (48m) / Vando (11.6m)
    Claxton (25.3m) / Portis (14.1m) / Jemison (2.35m)

    + One 2nd round rookie (1.5m)
+ One vet minimum SG/SF ring chaser (2.35m)

    Around 195.1m - First apron is 195.9m

I'm not sure if we have enough draft capital to land both Clayton and Camara. Maybe you could go Rui, Kleber, Shake (cut immediately) & Knecht for Ayton & Camara. We give them a first and a second? I don't like Ayton and wouldn't want him long term, but it's a contract year and he is an expiring.

yeah, i don't think portland's moving camara without a star coming back, and knecht ain't it.

kleber/gabe for williams/thybulle--who says no? we're taking the big injury risk despite the talent disparity, and they're all expirings.

thybulle's your 1-3 defender; william is your rim protector/lob threat.

Thybulle is an interesting piece, I'd consider it. Not sure on Timelord, he plays 40% of games... what's the point if you'll never have him healthy. Rather keep Kleber.

EDIT: this is blasphemy, would Portland move Camara for Reaves?

As a second move maybe, If we got Claxton in a seperate deal, I could live with Williams as the backup.

Ayton is still an intriguing trade prospect for me. Luka and Lebron, can get him onto the All-Star team next season (ie he gets paid) I think he'd be great here, properly motivated.

i'm of the mind that nothing will motivate ayton, tbh. feel like that's a last resort move if other stuff doesn't work out. and it could work...i just wouldn't pursue it. i mean, when phx decided to try to go all in (after they got to the finals, btw), they felt like he needed to go for role players. i just feel like he's one of those guys that doesn't really love winning. which is fine, from a human standpoint, just not from a sports standpoint. he just happened to be big and coordinated and used it to make money.

Yeah, I think he's coasting from here on out. He tried doing all the dirty work and little things once for Phoenix and they rewarded him by not paying him. Until he's having to sing for his supper and is a reclamation project trying to stave off minimum offers, I don't think he'll rachet up the needed level of give a f***.

My dream summer is to trade for Claxton and sign Aquaman(dude is playing excellent D and is the best offensive rebounder in the League).

Adams would be an excellent backup C. Heck I could be convinced to go Adams and Bobby Portis as our C rotation if Claxton is too expensive.

We don’t have a chance to get Giannis(not enough firsts).
I don’t want SlimSofty for the same reasons Svtzr doesn’t.
I’m only trading Reaves(with others) for a better player.
I’m not even going to comment on how bad of a player Ayton is.

It's crazy the Nuggets are playing DeAndre Jordan in Game 5 of a 2-2 series in 2025. He's been washed for like 5 years.

I'm open to trading Reaves but it's really hard to find a trade that makes any sense. The one I keep thinking about is Reaves for Franz, but I doubt Orlando would be interested. They need more shooting and shot creation, but Franz is a few years younger and already a better player IMO. I'd be interested in Suggs + something for Reaves too, but Suggs' big extension is about to kick in which makes matching salary tough.

Only chance we have with Giannis is if he tries to force his way here and here only, which isn't happening. He still has 2 years + a PO left on his deal and I doubt he'd be put Milwaukee in that poor of a position. I'm also a little bit wary of a Luka/Giannis pairing, crazy as that sounds. The Bucks never ran as much Dame/Giannis P&R as everyone expected, apparently in large part because Giannis doesn't want to set 40 screens a game. He thinks he's too good a player for that, the ball should be in his hands.

I legitimately don’t get how he keeps getting hired. Coasting off of one title and acting confident

Kornet continuously gets the most ridiculously positive plus minus numbers I've seen out of a roleplayer this year.

Would really target him if I was Rob.
