OKC still beat them by 6 after the 29 point comeback. After Ja left, it was ova.

28/5/5 against those defensive guards is SICK

This is a sweep. Shouldn't even go a full 4. Grizz are trash.

    If that's the bar...

Nuggets had an uphill battle regardless, BUT maybe firing your coach right before the playoffs isn't the best idea.

Clipps will be good UNTIL the injury cart pulls up. It's not if, it's when. Kawhi is on borrowed time.

frustrating that the clips get this dysfunctional, banged up denver team while the lakers had to face them at the top of their game the last two years

but clips are looking scary either way. they're going to win this series and they could take okc to 7 if kawhi stays healthy. and it certainly looks like he's discovered the fountain of youth

I don't know man, this year feels somehow different, like they're about to break the curse. He stayed healthy that one year at Toronto...

I was more thinking about related to Draymond. Taking out a teammate and affecting the team - just like he cost them a championship could be cosmic. Butler clearly isn’t to blame on this one even if he is a bit high maintenance.

I'm happy the clippers are looking solid, I want them to give OKC hell. Meeting either of those teams in the WCF, you want them banged up from a brutal series.

the irony with the clippers is that for years, ballmer's cash gave them the deepest team in basketball. everyone would be like...how is lue winning with his stars injured, and i would be like...because his 12th man makes more than our 4th?

anyway, they finally lose both a star AND depth (they're really down to 8 players, and one of them is 78 year old nic batum), but everyone is miraculously healthy for the playoffs, so it doesn't matter!

meanwhile, denver slowly lost depth each year since the ring, and they look like they're circling the drain. btw, i was on record after they won the ring saying that porter was intensely overrated and overpaid, and they needed to sell high. that ship sailed. he's only got two years left on his deal now, but you're wasting another year of jokic's prime paying him 38 million next year. after that, you can't even use his expiring to bring in overpaid role players because jokic, murray, and gordon make so much that they're putting you in the luxury tax almost by themselves in 2026-27. it's projected at 206, and they have 202 committed to just 9 players, four of which are currently on rookie deals, and that's without extending braun.

in short, they're in a lot of trouble. i'm kinda mad malone didn't have to sit through it.

I have thought the same thing about the Clips. They lose PG for nothing, and get better.

There is an art to building a good club. Just having money isn't enough or NY and Chicago would be in the East finals every year.

Minny, Golden State, and the Toileteers really finished the year strong and on a high note. It felt like nobody would be happy to see them in round 1. The West is just BRUTAL.

If I'm Memphis, I'm dumping Ja this offseason while I can. He's dynamic, but besides one strong run, he can't stay healthy or out of trouble. I feel like he's more of a liability than an asset. With Pippen Jr. emerging, do they really even need him? Maybe grab another shooter and depth, but they have actually always played pretty good without him.

i can't figure out what memphis is doing, tbh. i don't think the coach deserved to be fired. i strongly question morant as a franchise cornerstone. jaren jackson is a dimestore AD, and bane isn't good enough to be a third star. i feel like they kept overperforming their talent under jenkins, and that it doesn't matter who they bring in next, they can't further overperform their talent.

they're in reasonable shape, cap-wise. they have space, but it's not enough for a big fish.

they don't have a 1st this year, but they don't owe any going forward.

with the west being as stacked as it is right now, it's time for them to blow it up, imo. trade all three of your highest paid players for young guys with upside and picks. bottom out for a couple years waiting for some of the other west teams to drop off, see if you can land an actual franchise cornerstone or simply rebuild a middling playoff team--something the franchise has done a few times already.

Dumba** the way he plays. How many of these types of falls before he gets it he should pick his Sports Center highlight attempts much better?
