Feels like you are new at being a Laker fan

    1. We deserve all of the major stars in our sport at sometime during their career
    2. Everyone should be willing to come here for pennies on the dollar because we’re the Lakers
    3. Questioning all moves past and present is fair game when hindsight is 2020 if somebody can take the blame of us not winning the championship
    4. The Boston C Bags suck
    5. We are completely irrational when it comes to our team, valuing the quality of our draft picks, and expectations of each, and every player setting personal bests every single game, or obviously, they were not built to be a Laker
    6. The refs hate us
    7. There is a Laker tax, it’s real.
    8. We have a quota we must maintain of paleskins. Luckily, our scouts have found a way to not only not let it affect us negatively, but help us thrive.
    9. We are the preeminent sports franchise of any sport worldwide bar none
    10. Our franchise was originally located in Minnesota the land of lakes. Therefore, we are Lakers.
    Hope this helps

    and if I may contribute:

Zubac not only would have helped us to a championship by now, but likely multiple championships, and he would be on his way to a Hall of Fame career with the numbers he would be putting up next to LeBron

    :Noddingyes:

AD would’ve taken less money so he could play next to a quality big man like Zubac. AD would’ve had less wear and tear and likely would never have been injured during the last five years, resulting in additional championships.

This single greatest mistake by Magic Johnson has actually prevented our franchise from being the leader in all-time championships for the NBA.

I like to remind Magic from time to time via tweet we needed a center and that he traded Zu:Laugh:

    This is a good summation

And #4 is the main one

Just the color green gets me going

Still find it hard to believe JJ wore a green shirt in an interview

    Alas....

And people so soon forget Kupcake

    Ugh....

Yes it could be better, but it could be worse as we have experienced

    11. We get every team’s best effort every game. And players who were long injured miraculously end up being “probable” or available when it’s time to play us.

It's like you glossed over the fact that the Lakers won a title the year after trading him and he only became a really good player the past year...

It was the correct decision at that point in time. No amount of complaining will change that.

I don't see you complaining about every team that passed on Jokic but here we are, six years later, complaining about Zubac?

That's the thing about forums. Everyone and anyone can just reminisce about something that wasn't really that big of a deal. Zubac's a good player. There are lots of good players in the league. Where the Lakers screwed up wasn't on Zubac. It was blowing up a championship team that had good chemistry and teamwork.

Lakers didn't 'lose' any title contention years because they traded Zubac, lol. Let's get serious here. He'd be nice to have right now but the Clippers were looking like a bottom of the barrel team until Kawhi came back and started doing Kawhi things. I didn't hear you guys talking about Zubac at all.

I see nobody mentioning that Rob helped us land JJ, that would be another strike in his favor.

there is not much of a debate. I absolutely LOVE Magic, he is the best point guard to ever play the game, watching him play the game was probably the most joyful experience anyone could have watching the NBA. Showtime was the best we have ever had. That being said, he sucked at being a front office guy. He is just not built for it. Rob is 100 times better at that than Magic ever was, or could be. Still love Magic, just recognizing the truth. Time to move on.

zubac was gone either way, yes

but magic didn't need to trade him to the f***ing clippers and he could've gotten more in return

Luckiest GM in the history of the League. Lucked into both the AD, and Luka trades, ironically they were traded for each other. Other than that...mediocre tenure IMO. Still...it really is better, to be lucky than good sometimes.

yeah, rob's dealings with klutch set the stage for AD to occur, and his relationship with harrison set the stage for luka to occur.

this is why we hired him in the first place, too--the idea that having worked in another capacity, he had connections and understanding that could be of value.

how many folks could have kept the doncic trade quiet for weeks?

    He got Luka.

    Well-deserved extension.

pelinka's biggest strength as GM has been keeping leaks out (probably helps that magic and his big mouth are gone too, but still)

every post-westbrick trade the lakers have made has come out of left field
