What I could see (or would like to see) is Luka just tell his old friends/players on the Mavs not to take personally what he's about to do to them. lol. Dallas fans seeing Luka destroy the Mavs would delight them to no end.

It's so bad there that Nico didn't leave his house for a few weeks because of threats. If he did he had security with him.

Still the craziest trade I can think of.

I agree. He was going to retire there as a legend. Now they are at halftime and Luka has 31 and AD has 4. That was some seriously lopsided trade.

Nothing against AD. But, he ain't 26 year old Luka.

Bro put on a show and clinched us a top 6 playoff spot. Huge game considering the emotions of it.

Luka is just special, he’s that dude. 7-10 from 3, 31 first half points, so Kobe-like

Pressure …. what pressure?? Mamba mentality. With a smile. :D He’s lost a little more weight and is in even better shape peaking at the right time. Allows him to get to the rim a lot easier …. seems.

Worst thing to happen to him was an extended stop in play -- halftime.

31 in the first half. Then got to take a big sigh and think/reflect. Don't get me wrong, finishing with 45 is historic. Impressive as hell considering the emotions and the second night of a back to back. But if it was a quarter break and not a trip to the locker room, he gets 60.

To go out after that and go "Mamba mode"... that's what separates him

    All for one...

Poor Nico. That Dallas team would be scary with a healthy Kyrie - they would be the closest team to the Bubble Lakers model around right now. Just massive across the board like that title winning squad

On a side note: Luka is starting to look a lot lighter. Still fat but he's had to have dropped 10-20 lbs since his return

Crazy, players of that caliber just don’t get traded, especially mid-season

That's what Nico was hoping for was to get the Bubble Lakers. The difference though is they had LeBron. Dallas doesn't. AD is also 5 years older now. That was just a dumb move all around. Even if the Mavs win a title they lost the trade. Luka will win more than one title with MY Lakers.

Serious question @audiosway - what is your perception on Luka's coverage by the media before and after the trade? It has always seemed to me that players on the Lakers receive a much harsher treatment than others. Kobe received more criticism than praise basically throughout his career even though he's certainly a top 10 player of all time, many (me included) would argue top 3. AD was mocked throughout his tenure as a Laker, even role players are "affected", like for example Caruso who suddenly "became" a great defender once he left the Lakers. I could name meny other examples. It seems there is a trend there, but I may be seeing things through my purple and gold glasses too much.

As a long time Luka fan, do you see a change in the way he's being "treated" by the media since he came over?

AD is not himself yet. He will be a lot better eventually, but he will never be as good as Luka.

Should Nico get fired he should move to LA. Fans have nothing but love and appreciation for that man.

Seeing how gutted Luka was really drove home how special his relationship was with Mavs nation. He was what Kobe is to us.
