I'd be happy with that, too. I think he'll score a little more than that, though. :).

I think we have too many respectable scorers.

Oops; those were the wrong numbers.
    15.2 points, 4.6 assists, 4.3 boards

I have Kobe at 17.3 PPG (in only 28 minutes; I want to see how his minutes shape up).
Young at 15.8 (but his minutes might decrease)
    Clarkson 15.2
    Russell 13.7
    Williams 12.4
    Hibbert 10.7
    Bass 10.2

BTW, I always follow Summer League and Exhibition and update these numbers. I have Julius at just under 10 a game, but that could change.

No, but I'm not sure I see him playing more than 25 a night, and I have him at 9 and 7.

    Question:

Is the fact that Clarkson was a second round pick the thing that is holding us back from realistically thinking he could be a franchise player? I mean, everyone kind of wants to pump the brakes and say he's going to be a really good player or whatever. But there is nothing holding him back.

    Athleticism? Check
Drive to be the best? Check
    BB IQ? Check
    Skill? It's getting there

Why can't Clarkson be a franchise guard, and why can't him and Russell rival the Splash Bros for best backcourt in the league in 3 years or so? Different type of backcourt, but still potentially just as devastating.

I think it's just statistics. Each player in the NBA is ridiculously unlikely to be a franchise player. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

I agree that it's unlikely, but I think we are starting to see it is now plausible. I'm kind of making the point that his second round selection I think prevents a lot of fans from even considering the notion.

He reminds me of a taller/more athletic version of Monta Ellis. Definitely a combo guard.

I don't want to sound like I'm down on Clarkson, I think he's 1 of the best young players in the league, but I think those projections might be a bit high. My reasoning is Hibbert. I expect us to take full advantage of our new defensive anchor, & that's going to mean playing at a very slow pace. I expect guys like Clarkson & Young to do most of their damage during the 18 minutes when Roy is on the bench, because they're better when they're running than they are at creating in the halfcourt. I expect the halfcourt offense to feature Russell feeding the bigs & Kobe creating shots.

Why can't they run a fast break if Hibbert is on the floor? You don't need your Center to run a fast break.

Clarkson is our Jimmy Butler! If Kobe retires after next season then the season after that I think JC will explode into a star and our go to scorer, who can command at least 10 mil/year. We should lock him up for our future 's sake.

Those were actually per36; I posted slightly lower numbers just below that. I agree with you.

Well, Clarkson played well again today. Might be getting myself a #6 jersey soon.
