If he really only had one rebound, I'm surprised. He had a putback, and he tipped another one that was rebounded by us. And that's just what I can remember.

The box score probably is wrong but Tarik was gobbling every rebound out there so Julius was a bit nonchalant.

He had 2 put backs on offense, so really he had at least two. Towns only had 3 and he's a 7 foot center. But I agree, more would have been nice.

Speaking on Randle, this new version of him is nice, if Reggie thinks you've put on weight, but really lost 15 lbs, you must be doing something right. Last night, he seemed to go to what he knows he can do and that's probably natural coming back from almost a year with no game action. He was rushing a lot and out of control at times, but that is mostly rust.

He is a man-child though, the quickness and strength is unreal, when he gets back into the form he was in the end of pre-season last year, he's going to look real nice.

A combo of rust/nerves/long lay off got the best of him last night, but the physical tools and overall skill was still very apparent.

Someone had asked about a minutes limit last night. I said I thought it was 30. Kevin Ding Tweeted earlier saying it was 20 last night, off tonight, and then we'll see what happens for the next time out.

BTW, b2b for players who have never played against NBA competition? Is this a brilliant idea if we're concerned about injuries?

Seriously, what's up with this minute management?
Also, he better lower that shoulder... or him playing 20-25mins. a game will take care of itself (refs will i mean) ;).

Randal was driving by his man at will when he got the ball at the three point line. With that speed and strength, he's going to be a load for any PF to guard him, but he often stops once he got under the basket, and looked like Dwight once he got in the paint. No go to moves really. He tried to figure out a way to score but it was different every time.

He needs a go to and a counter that he practices till he doesn't have to think about how to score, he just instinctively does it.

Well he kept getting to the rim, throwing his defender out of the way, then the defense would collapse and he'd have to shoot over Towns and usually another guy too. He needs to learn to drive more in control. He has a gorgeous spin move, he needs to use it. He was trying so hard to do the same things, he was clearly frustrated. Towards the end of the game he looked MILES better. That blow-by going to his left will be there all day against most power forwards.

I'm not too worried about his offense, but again he falls asleep on the little things. Kobe needs to come around and remind him: box out, screen hard, footwork. It's the attention to detail that separates the good from the great.

Oh and one rebound? That's a joke right? He had at least 2-3 that I can remember off the top of my head. No he's not boxing out, but he's freaking 6'9" and the strongest kid on the court. He got 2-3 rebounds without even trying.

He set NCAA records as a double-double machine in college.

He's definitely a bit out of control on offense right now but you can already tell he's gonna be a beast. After getting some quality NBA minutes, not only will he refine his game, but he'll develop a reputation. Defenders will be scared to go up against him when they get familiar with the kind of physical punishment he dishes out.

Once the dude settles down and hits those gimmies in the lane, watch out. He either blows by guys or has guys just bounce off of him. I haven't seen a guy bounce opponents like that since Shaq.

After re-watching the game, his second half is far far better than his first. He crashed the offensive boards more, he boxed out more, and he played more under control. Not all the way mind you, but certainly better.

I think the reality is he wanted to come out and be a sensation right away and he pushed too hard. Once things didn't go his way he got frustrated which is understandable for a young kid. I think he'll look a lot better on Monday.

Summer League is just glorified practice for guys that are signed. Just working out kinks and trying stuff with no worries of repercussions. Glad he tried a few thing out he's been working on. Some of it looked awful, but you've got to try it out in games some time. Now is that time.

Yeah, I'm sure everyone heard Reggie Miller and the other announcer talking out of their butts how they weren't sure it was a good thing while Julius was down with the leg to just bulk up with weights (actually imply he had gained weight because he looked bigger to them) like so many players do when they can't play.

 Love the new AVI. The nickname, along with Beast, Ox, whatever just cracks me up. I hope he's OK with the humor.

We've seen some flashes of him putting the ball up with the right going to the hoop. I think he may already be ahead of Lamar in that regard. How long did it take him to do it, and then still only once in awhile.

I'd be careful with bouncing guys off him though, might have that called an offensive foul a lot.

That plus increased widespread acting skills, you are right.

Vlade would have been in the 3rd row on a Randle Drive.

Can't wait to see Chris Paul try to take a charge on him. :)

The potential is there ... This is when the "players development staff" and coaching is important through the first years
