If the contract is friendly enough (a la Nick Young type deal), the right player, they would pull the trigger no problem.
You can only use a disabled player exception on a player that is in the last year of their deal (Expiring contract) or you can sign a FA with it for the rest of the season.
Perfect. Lets get Tobias harris. Most people probably haven't even heard of him. I think he'd be a steal for that price. Plus he gets a Nike bonus for signing with LA
I like Roscoe. He's playing hard and he's doing some nice offensive rebounding. I'd be fine if we picked him up. I guess we'll see. We need a wing. I think we need one much more than another PG.
Never heard of him. Looks like he puts up points, but based on his scouting report, he's not the defender or shooter that would be ideal for this team.
He's only 22 and has shown a LOT of potential. Can't tell you how much money he's made me in fantasy basketball haha. But on a serious note, Hes a very good rebounder and has a polished offensive game. Very underrated player.
Fantasy is nice, but also think about he's on a team with no scorer and no offensive scheme. He has the opportunity in Orlando, but if he's in LA, he'll have a much more limited offensive role. That's why, a floor spacer or defender is much preferred.
Yeah, I don't disagree. I just don't see many options better than him. Also, from what i've seen from him he's actually a pretty good defender. I'm surprised that his scouting report lists that as a weakness. Then again, i've only seen a handful of games that he started in so I could be totally wrong.
No, but he's a restricted free agent and turned down an extension. With Harkless/aaron gordon developing and acquiring Frye, that makes him expendable. Especially since he has a bonus for signing in LA/NY/CHI. They just gave Vucevic a big payday. They won't have a ton of money laying around with the likes of Oladipo and Gordon around for paydays in the near future.
This. If you've noticed Tobias Harris it's because he's got solid potential. The Magic know this. They're not going to give him up for nothing and there's nothing I'd give up for him at this point. What would we trade to Orlando that makes them pull this trigger? Hill? Hill is worth more than that. The 1st? Harris isn't worth close to that.
I think you're right. Orlando seemed high on him, and he seems to be a Tayshaun Prince /AK47 type of talent. I'm a fan.
The magic have no leverage. He's gonna leave. They won't be able to match him. Thats just my opinion. He will end up in LA/NY/CHI. Unless they REALLY like the guy and are gonna make him a centerpiece....Which i doubt, hes not THAT good.
So what? He turned down an extension now, so the Magic are going to give him up for a trade exception? That's silly. Lower your expectations, we are dealing with a 4 million dollar TPE, not a lottery pick.
Like I said in my first post, Its unlikely....Also, Barnes is MUCH more unlikely than Harris. Barnes is a more "silly" idea. This is just tobias harris we are talking about.
Here's Pincus' article about what the Lakers can and can't do with Nash's contract situation. http://www.latimes.com/sports/laker...ve-nash-financial-options-20141024-story.html
I know. The Harrison Barnes talk is comical. So...would you please give us Barnes for...the right not to pay him this year?
Being a Restricted Free Agent means they can match any offer. To get him another team would have to offer a fairly lucrative amount of money. Why would anyone do that? He's not that great. Conversely, why would the Lakers give up picks/pieces to get Harris? Does Harris make us a playoff team? Does he fit into our future plans? Is he a building block for us if he isn't for the Magic? I think the answer for all of those questions is "no".
Who are we talking about? The Tobias Harris that won you so much fantasy money, that is an underrated player, has lots of potential at 22, a very good offensive rebounder with a polished offensive game or The Tobias Harris that you just downgraded, in the post above, to essentially just another player. If the Lakers had Harris right now, would you give him up/be happy with trading him for a TPE and nothing else? I'd be pissed, but that's just my opinion.
