PG was butthurt that the lakers didn't trade all their young talent for him when he was still in indy. what a disaster that would've been and yeah, kawhi was never going to come to the lakers with lebron here. he just used them as leverage during that whole FA period and would've probably gone back to toronto on a 1 year deal if the clips hadn't been able to acquire PG
LOLOL but that's literally shocking to me. Have all their fair weather "fans" quit on them because they know their almost contending days are over .... ALREADY? It was the Detroit Pistons they were playing but still. 219 people in the seats!!?? Well in addition to the legions of toilets when the seats are empty they can do really snazzy light shows with them. No that's some forward thinking. Who made the worse career decision .... Ty Lue or Lee Jenkins? Talk about obscurity, from having been a nationally celebrated sportswriter at the premiere magazine. Though certainly Ballz is paying him far more. To do WHAT though? Here's his X account, which you'd think he would be using to hype the team. Sound of crickets in there once he announced his move, and even said it didn't mean he wouldn't be writing any more. https://twitter.com/byleejenkins?lang=en
Brutal!! New state of the toilet art stadium and they get more fans for a Justin Bieber concert than for a basketball game!!
I would have loved to see Shaq vs Wemby. Bet SAS would have someone else guard Shaq so Wemby wouldn't be broken in half. Shaq vs Jokic would be one of the funnest: two immovable objects battling each other
What ? people don't care about toilets Currently «Clippers» take the last place in the home games attendance league this season. The average attendance of «Intuit Dome» is 16,209 people. Five teams with the lowest attendance at home games as of March 9: Clippers : 16 209 29. «Washington»: 16 211 28. «Atlanta»: 16 402 27. «Memphis»: 16 496 26. «Sacramento»: 16 600
just wait until harden and kawhi are gone and the clips are in full rebuild mode. ouch doesn't help that the arena's in a terrible location that's very difficult to get to
i actually think shaq could have shut jokic down in isolation--even far from the hoop. he was bigger, faster, quicker, stronger, and not a dumb player. the issue is that he'd have to go out there. even back then, the mavs traded for raef lafrentz just in the hopes that when they played shaq, he'd have to come away from the lane defensively. i think shaq dominates jokic individually, but jokic's team has a good chance of winning due to his passing and his ability to at least make shaq take tougher shots.
yeah, they've been winning since we almost ended their season and took down cleveland last night. but they've got memphis, okc, the knicks (minus brunson, though), and then orlando and cleveland on the road in the next couple weeks. if they keep winning in that stretch, it's time to be worried if you're one of the top seeds that might draw them. lots of playoff experience on that team, and they probably have the most feared isolation scorer in the league (at least for the first couple rounds before the inevitable injury). the scrum for the 6 seed is brutal, and i'd like to stay out of it, plz.
A healthy Kawhi (oxymoron I know) is a beast. He can basically match up with any other top 5 player. I just don't think even if he stays healthy he's going to be able to do this game in and game out anymore. Clippers could be dangerous as they have a bunch of good players who could carry them if Kawhi isn't peak
Kawhi is still absolutely amazing when he plays, but the problem is this: he simply can't carry you in the playoffs day in and day out. The games are brutal, you don't get to load manage... the Clips are very dangerous when they are on, but they can't sustain it.
