Happy Birthday Luka!! Another off shooting night, but still slightly better than last night. Seems like on a couple of drives, he was primarily looking for the call instead of just attacking/making a layup.

Those back to back 3s were nice, plus the and-1, and scream to go with it.

We went up double digits, and really didn’t seem to have a lot of energy until those 3s, and the Goodwin/Vando/Jemison havoc.

He shot better on FTs it seemed like, and is still trying to find his groove. Once he gets his confidence back, you’re going to see a really badddd man.

The shots will start falling; that's just a matter of time.

His "gravity", "playmaking", with his sheer brilliance as a basketball player will win you game, though.

    He's just that good.

    Great rebounder, too.

yeah, he can be 3-14 and looking like junk, and the opposing coach is still going to be terrified about what could happen, as are the opposing players. it just makes the game easier for everyone, even if he's not lighting it up.

Yep. Like this clip Raj posted of how far he's pulling Zu, he has him out to logo extended.

If he's 1/10, he's still being defended that way. That opens up the entire half court for teammates.

One thing I have to get used to: not to get stressed out by the shot clock. With our 3 creators, we're getting the right look even if it takes 23.5 seconds. But we have a lot more late clock conversions with this group. I imagine that'll lessen a little as they get more accustomed to each other, but hardly any of these late clock shots are bail out/F it shots. They're the right read, it just took that long to develop.

...what is encouraging is that Doncic is not fully activated and we are winning. His overall game is calculated, deliberate, no wasted motion. Not a high flier nor flashy but just gets it done. His touch on his shots is really good. Reaves is like that too.

I just wish he would lessen the complaining so much.
Maybe he’ll learn sooner than later that he will get more calls with a lot less b****ing at the refs.

^^^ it's a good thing JJ asked Luka if he wanted to be coached and spoken to honestly because I imagine at some point JJ will get on his a** about it as he gets close to missing a game with too many, or it costs them in a tight game. That said I absolutely don't understand why Jeanie doesn't have the video team compile all the HITS constantly on LeBron and Luka that the refs looking right at them in the footage swallow their whistles on ... and bring it to Silver's attention with whatever level of complaint she's comfortable with.

I expect Lue to continue to blitz Doncic to make him give up the rock. Especially when James is not sharing the floor with him. I fully expect Redick to have a counter to that. Shame we will not have Reaves or Hachimura as safety blankets for the time being.

29 points, bombed 5 threes, clutch shots, 9 assists, 2 steals, he’s rounding into form, no pun intended. And when asked by Trudell if he enjoys playing in Crypto, he said “hell yeah!”.

That steal he got in the first quarter by jumping in front of the ball handler(??) was amazingly quick laterally (if he did jump in front) and the tapping the ball back toward the Lakers basket. I had to run it 3 times and it was really such a quick move with his body and hand reaching for the tap away that I still wasn’t sure what exactly he did to pull it off.
