Life's lessons that make us stronger are not enjoyable when we go through them, but Dalton will look back from his grandpa rocker down the road and see this as a defining moment... or he could still be giving us all the bird.
Every player is an asset, ad/luka trade prime example...heck even Bron couldve been traded if he didn't have a no trade clause
Doesn’t mean it doesn’t cut you deep or that you don’t experience feelings of betrayal. He’s young, he’ll get over it, but it has to mess with you mentally somewhat.
Definitely a character building moment for him Will he learn and grow or continue to sink? It's all on him now It's very difficult for me to look at these players and what kind of job they have and they can't get focused. You get paid huge money to play a game you love so put in full effort and get your head going in the right direction
IMO, if it is true that Dalton is upset about getting traded and needs time to grieve, this is even more of a reason to trade him. He is age 23. He should be old enough to understand the business of the game despite being a 'rookie.' He himself transferred schools for a better opportunity. He can't expect a franchise not to do the same when they desperately needed a center and his contract matched up with Mark Williams, which is likely why he was chosen for a trade. Either way, you get paid millions! Just keep your head up and play basketball. The Lakers had no choice, it's that simple. And if Dalton is still upset, the Lakers traded AD! If they can trade AD, the best player on the Lakers, what makes you think you won't be traded? The Lakers priority right now is firstly to win a title and secondly, to make Luka happy so he can stay a Lakers. It's unfortunate that it happened but it is a business. Because of Dalton being upset and probably won't resign with the Lakers because he'll hold a grudge, Lakers should probably consider trading him this offseason.
I was with you all the way until this last part stepping into mind reading territory here. But you're in good company happens a lot around here especially with regard to the FO.
I think Dalton is more so upset because of the feeling of being tossed around back and forth, but yea the bridge is kind of burned and we probably need to trade him. ...hopefully for someone who won't fail their physical
What are you basing that off? No offense sounds like speculation. We’ve seen nothing to suggest the bridge is burned.
I never said it was. I'm just saying he's a good trade asset and if he's this upset that he has to sit out some games to mend, then maybe it's in the best interest for both parties to separate. You can see him sulking last game. If he was 18 years old, I'd understand. He's 23. He should be more mentally aware of what is happening.
Dude you're still mind reading. He wasn't dressed for the game and probably felt how bout "awkward and embarrassed" out there as opposed to "sulking"?
It’s only been one game my goodness people are overreacting a little bit. Let’s see what happens tonight and if this continues to be an issue before we talk about trading him again.
Okay, let's say I am mind reading. Am I not allowed to? Are we not allowed to have a discussion about whether or not this trade has affected Knecht to the point where it can cause locker room friction? I particularly did not like how he was sulking on the bench while everyone else was laughing and cheery. Relax. It's a discussion forum. It's ALL mind reading at the end of the day. But he 100% was sulking on the bench. Watch the game.
I'd call assuming that we now need to plan on trading him this off season and possible locker room friction (seriously him causing that on this team?) not "relaxed". How bout watching the rest of the season rather than proclamations based on less than a minute probably him caught on camera, certainly not happy .... but sulking and burn't bridges (not you) and all that is over the top. That's MY opinion.
I think it’s possible the way Dalton looked in those clips posted is because he genuinely didn’t know yet if he was going to have to go back to Charlotte again. We found out just before the game that they were seeing what actions they could take with the trade, which means so did Dalton. It’s entirely possible he didn’t play in case the trade still somehow was forced through, and not knowing either way would be super awkward.
Crazy all this trade talk He got traded not because they wanted to trade him They had to give up something to get something I'm sure it could happen again, then again it may not be necessary Let's see how he learns and grows out of this situation before we all judge him Reminder that he is a young player and it's his first year in the league Vets need to be getting involved with him to coach him through this
