theis would fit in with what we're doing, as would nance.

theis is very dwight powell-ish, which luka would understand.

Wow. Timing sucks. Nothing we can do about it now.

Unless there's a buyout with a big to help, we have no choice but to eat it.

This is pretty sh**** on Cha's part. There's no way they didn't know about this and they still negotiated this deal, lol. Goodness. F them.

We lose our open roster spot, too.

On the positive side, Dalton was trending upwards offensively (maybe stagger his mins with Bron and Luka), you get your pick and swap back, and you can shop this summer for a healthy big man.

We can't get anyone in the buyout market because we have no roster spot and can't waive and sign someone because we are too close to the 2nd apron.

Our only shot is if the league give some sort of exception that allow us to pick up someone.

But in the end, it's our fault too. If we wait until the deadline to make the deal, you're allowing for these things to happen

What is JeVale doing these days? He played with Luka before, and he could help mentor the younger centers in the art of rim-running.

So if we can’t waive someone and sign someone new because we’re too close to the apron, and two-way players aren’t postseason eligible, we’re literally stuck with just Hayes?

i'm not sure they knew. if they did, yes, f*** them. but it's possible they didn't.

not sure where to go. guess we could revisit kessler, but danny's going to smell blood here.

could be a blessing to just play out the season and see how the parts fit around our primary players.

if rui flames out, maybe we look at some trades with his contract. if not, maybe we embrace smallball for a bit.

Danny is going to ask for Bronny first born son here. You can be sure of that.

We can do 1 vet min pro-rated deal. Would need to waive Reddish.

Why can't we waive anybody? I was under the impression we could waive Cam/Wood and sign somebody on the buyout market? Where are you getting your information? Post the CBA rule, please.

It isn't our fault. We were giving up a lot and negotiating a deal out of good faith with the intention that Cha was, too. If we're quibbling about making a deal the day before the deadline, 29 other NBA teams do that, too. This is what you call an "anomaly..."

Which is why I would like to ask anyone not to ask for Dwight. Please.

And I know Bynum is 37. He is not playing basketball ever again.

    Yep.

We have been playing really well without AD, it should be said. And without Luka. Sure, we may be exposed in postseason, but Luka and Bron are the right archetype for this style of play, big, strong, rebound well, so maybe it works.
Sometimes it also makes their center unplayable because we're too mobile and fast on offense. I remember it happening against Houston.

My concern is that it can work in spurts but will be hard to sustain for 30 more regular season games and then multiple playoff series.

It was talked a lot before the trades. Because when you waive, the full salary of the waived player still counts towards the cap. So you need to have enough room to sign someone and still be below the 2nd apron.

However, I checked and we are now around 1.6mil below the 2nd apron. I think we were like 400 or 500k before the trades, so maybe we now have enough room? Let's see what the experts say in the next days, I'm sure that will be confirmed
