You are surely trolling with the #2.
Did Austin poison your dog, or something similar?

Why on Dennis? We have Gabe who is just as good or better on D and the stronger of the two players. Doesn't seem a position of real need. Dennis's defense has declined according to someone (abeer?) here.

We need a big way more than another Guard.
Gabe is better at this point than Dennis because he doesn’t try dumb things on offense.

lol no the reason they are two separate deals is because Shroeder cant be aggregated with other players in a trade. Utah likely wouldn't just accept Wood + 31 1st + 27 protection removed for Kessler. Look at it as one large deal. Does it look more fair that way?

Not sure Utah will even keep Dennis.

Only interested if we trade Gabe.

Not really expecting much here down the stretch but we will see. We’ve made significant moves already using DLO, AD, Christie, and several picks. May have to see who ends up in the buyout market and go from there.

We asked for moves though and got them. Front office and Rob have done their jobs. If we can’t get a big we know it wasn’t from a lack of trying.

KD going to land in Dallas? 2018 - Kyrie tried to have JT and JB traded for AD and KD. If Dallas got KD would they still be upset about Luka?

    I don’t get it.
It just doesn’t make sense based on what Austin does on the court.
You don’t throw away a talent like Austin for a nearly washed Dennis.
He will only be traded for a disgruntled All Star talent, if at all, in the future.

Wait it out until close to the end when teams know they can’t get their first offer. That’s likely how this plays out.

Austin isn’t untouchable but with his production and contract I would not use him for anyone who isn’t a true star.

That's a reasonable stance. If that is the case, he probably goes to the bench then, where he would be a significant upgrade at 6th man for us.

The new CBA damn sure didn't stop, or limit, all the moving of big name players I see. It's actually more action, in that regard, this season over last season at this time.

If megastar Luka can be traded, your mediocre lesser star can be traded

    Three team deak:

    Lakers get Kessler and KCP

Jazz get: Knecht, 2028 Magic 1st, 2030 Magic 1st, 2026 Lakers pick swap, 2028 Lakers pick swap, and 2027 protection removed from Lakers 1st

    Magic get: Reaves and Vincent

    Why for Lakers?

Kessler is a rim-running center whose age is in Luka's timeline and is a perfect fit offensively and defensively. Replaces AD's rim-protection, rebounding, and rim-running. Does all of the efficient things AD was good at without the inefficient mid-range jump-shooting and unhappiness at center. Also bulkier than AD, also he could handle the large centers. KCP is still a solid 3 and D point-of-attack defender and has familiarity with Lebron. Lakers don't have to include any significant draft capital. The swaps are basically worthless with us likely doing well into the future.

    Why for Jazz?

They want to fleece the Lakers now, so we make them feel good about themselves for minute, but it's okay. DK would fit nicely. They also get two unprotected 1sts from Orlando, and our protection removed. The swaps gives them some extra incentive. Maybe it's an ego trip for Ainge to control our picks, but whatever. Get it done.

    Why for Orlando?

They could use an injection of offense in AR, and they just have to give up an aging KCP, and a couple firsts. Good deal for them.

Reaves has not to dissimilar value to Mikal Bridges to me. The bridges trade was an overpay obviously, but I think Reaves is worth 2-3 firsts. He is averaging 18/6 - that balloons to 20/7.5 over his last 20 games on 40% 3pt shooting from 6.5 attempts.

The other thing you have to look at his contract. He is producing at an all star level and being paid just slightly above the league average wage and roughly 20m below what he should be for his production. That’s incredibly valuable - he allows you to basically add two extra MLE players around two max contract guys in LeBron and Luka and another pseudo All Star in Reaves.

I don’t think we can give that up unless we are really blown away with something - to me Reaves for Turner is an even production swap. Fans from other teams will laugh at that though.
