this has to be a team option, right? Maybe they won't have cap room next year anyway so they give him a 1 year full max in return for the team option. That's the only way to justify that salary.

Dubs doing what they had to do. Their only window is Curry. Butler can always go crazy in a playoff series

A ton of players flying around in this deal. Let's pick up the pieces if there's something there

If Dennis is bought out definitely try to get him, but we’d also need a trade before then to clear a roster spot. I’m not sure we can waive and sign someone with how close we are to the 2nd apron.

well, i guess everything else can happen now. unless ingram is holding up anything else small. detroit seems to have rented out most of its space now, though, right?

Doesn’t really move the needle unless magically you see 2023 Jimmy again.

For the life of me, I don't see how swapping out Wiggins for Butler makes all that much sense. I know Wiggins has had a fraught personal life that interfered with his play, but they also dumped Dennis and Slo-Mo Anderson for Jimmy, who indeed seems to have crested a while back.

    Who the eff knows though...

I will tell you this now: Jimmy isn't going to make the Warriors better. He is old, he's slowed down and I don't know if his contribution will be any better than Wiggins's. And they also lost Dennis on top of that.

butler's a big upgrade on wiggins (if only due to the mentality, as you mentioned), and schroder is generally overrated around here (imo) and was a bad fit there. i think anderson had largely fallen out of the rotation, right?

but no, i don't know that this does much in terms of gs's standing. it will preserve steph a bit, but jimmy doesn't fit their scheme nor their culture, imo. and two stars that age is a recipe for disaster.

Don’t bet against Jimmy Butler in the playoffs, he can still go off on both sides of the floor. They’ve got a good team somewhere in there. Just not good enough

I can't wait to see Dray punch Jimmy in the face at some point. It'll happen.

Anderson would get significant mins depending how Kerr saw matchups, but yea: his last 6 games with GSW in mins: 12, 15, 11, 18, 26, 9.

Anything that expedites GSW toward full-rebuild mode is fine by me. I think this trade does that. If Draymond punches Jimmy: even faster.

Hilariously watching the “Light Years Ahead” Dubbs make a terrible decision.
They could have gotten at least one first and a good younger player for Wiggins this summer.

KD was an idiot. Should not have left after that Toronto series. Wanted to prove Draymond wrong - joined with Kyrie and Harden. Toe on the line… Steph got another ring - proving Dray right (they didn’t need KD). KD will wind up with SA in a few years to ring chase. Steph’s window is closed - Lakers closed it when they went to the WCF a couple years ago.

and Harden? Lol. Played with KD. Westbrook. Kyrie. Embiid. Kawhi. PG. Jimmy? No rings.
