Luka is a top two offensive player in the league. Top 3 overall. Not on a super max yet. Is younger than AR, even though he's been playing professionally for a decade, so there's mileage.

AD wasn't a face of a franchise, post-Bron. He's quiet, he's the best 1b in the league, but he's not *that* kind of player. He's not a guy players will flock from their teams to come join in the off season. He'll be 35-36 when Luka enters his prime.

Kobe liked Luka, a lot. Bron likes Luka, a lot. Luka has the swagger for the starring role in LA. He welcomes the lights and the pressure. He's built for it...

...maybe not physically. If there's anyone who does some of the same stuff stylistically that can give him the roadmap it's Bron.

ok...but the disrespect for AD from these gms. i get it from the fans, i guess. but AD is all-nba, and he's still a two-way monster. again, i do this trade from our perspective, but people are acting like AD's a meh centerpiece, and he's not.

Agreed. I like this deal for us but I honestly think the Mavs will be good. I could easily see this as something that works out short term for them and long term for us.
