Will need time to digest this one but first read is: we got the best player and a generational talent, the rest we will figure it out.

We need at least 2, sometimes 3 defensive specialists in the court with Luka/AR/Bron or a combination of them. We have only DFS and Vando, so we need at least 2 of those.
Roster looking like this:

AR | Knecht
Rui | DFS | Cam
Bron | Vando | Kieff | Wood
Kleber | Hayes

Cam might become needed again in the rotation. We definitely need to trade Rui for defense. Knecht can be deadly alongside Luka/Bron but can we wait on his defense to pick up?

We can finally go all-in too. The remaining FRP, swaps and everything we have should be dealt between this deadline and start of next season

 

mavs are going to have the best defensive fronctourt in the league with AD/lively. they're still very much a contender in the west without luka

 

I guess so man because I was 100% on team “Mavs won’t trade with us” and have no problem admitting that. For us to get Luka without giving up all of our picks even with AD in the deal is going to be crazy to me for awhile.

 

I think they’re going to be really good and this deal honestly can end up working out for both teams.

 

By doing this trade you are saying everyone is on the table except Lebron or you’ve lost the trade. We lost our 2 best defender for an incredible offensive player but someone who doesn’t play hard defensively and is always out of shape. Rui, Austin, and Dalton plus any draft capital need to be available for defensive help and rim protection

 

Nah. Ayton is thinking too low. We’ve now established anything can truly happen for us. First call has to be for Wemby and then we work down from there.
