I’ll never criticize anyone again for coming up with some seemingly crazy trade idea

 

Can’t blame Laker fans making up delusional trades since this always happen with the team

 

no one even could've come up with this trade. it's truly THAT insane

we were all hoping luka would end up here one day, but no one would've guessed it'd be now

 

i'm still in shock, but i had been calling for an AD trade for the sake of the team's future and i'm glad pelinka actually pulled the trigger. i'll miss the guy, but it had to be done

 

Holy f***, in my wildest dreams i couldn't see that one coming. We are set for the next 6-8 years, another allstar will want to join Luka here FOR SURE.
As for AD, i love this guy... he will now get his defensive player of the year trophy at least, now that he isn't a Laker and he's not hated for it.

 

I love AD and will miss him forever, Thanks AD for 2020 and playing great BBall these past 5 seasons. Also thanks to Max Christie, who was playing awesome ball and glad he found his role.

With all that being said, WTH is wrong with some you people? Luka is a generational player that will set us up for the next decade. Look at his resume, he was just in the finals and somehow got Kyrie to shut the hell up and play ball. Sure this season is a wash now but our future is certainly more bright now then it was yesterday. Who knows what the next move is but now building around a 25 year old Luka long term is much better then building around a 32 year old AD. As a Laker fan im willing to roll the dice with Luka then AD.

 

Nice post and basically my feelings as well, don’t think you ever turn this trade down, our long term future is set post LBJ and it’s for a generational talent, we could potentially target Giannis to pair with him if the bucks continue to be middling.

 

People briefed on the trade said it was made with complete alignment between ownership, the front office and the coaches. The Lakers were approached by Dallas and couldn’t turn down the chance to chart their future after James.

Considering everything we’ve read, is there any chance any of the 3 were looped in prior to this trade being official? (lebron, AD, Luka)

Seems like Luka is under contract for 2 more full years after this one.

I hope this isn’t a 2.5 year rental.

Beyond ecstatic, and share most of the sentiments here around missing AD, and wondering what’s next, especially in the frontcourt.

Loving this deal the more I think about it, so long as Luka signs an extension with us. I hope he embraces being a Laker!

 

I still can't wrap my head around this. We were a good center away from a contention. We were also not that far away from looking at some scrubs running in the P&G, watching ping pong balls and wondering what wtf happened to our storied franchise. Now, for the next 7-8 years we'll be in the mix for all great free agents, many pissed off stars will have us on their preffered lists... not to mention we will be hated even more by everyone, i love it. Let Luka be Luka, great players find a way to play together and he and Bron are smart. Maybe they will share the PED's stash, get Luka in shape, who knows.
Bottom line is, you get a chance at a HOF-er in his mid 20's like Luke, you take it!!! 10 times out of 10.

 

I don't know but guarantee you Reaves isn't going to the bench. Maybe they start Vando in there for some minutes to make it work like with AR and DLO?
