I agree with the AD part, but let’s not discount how good Luka is. He might not make us better, but he doesn’t make us worse IMO, he’s capable of going off in a Kobe-like way, we don’t have anyone on the team who could do that and haven’t since LeBron 2021 maybe? Luka is averaging 28/8/8, he’s a superstar. We need defense now for sure, but Luka is one of the best in the game, top 5 at worst.

that's true about luka, but they'll need to score 160 pts a game since they'll be giving up 150. if they're planning in still contending this season, trading for a solid defensive big man is a must. just not sure what pieces they can use to accomplish that, and i really hope its not reaves

Tryna get my head around this: Number one: AD is gone. That's enough to make me physically ill.
Two: Luka needs to get serious about his fat azz. Like: fast.
Three: Max was becoming one of my favorite players. I'm really sad to see him go. I have zero enthusiasm for Kleber or Markieff.

Just when we were starting to look like a Top 3 Defensive team...this?

I'm really really RILLY wondering what was going on behind the scenes with AD and the Lakers brass. It's easy to imagine Luka had grumbled about being tired in DAL, and so he ballooned to 260 and got hurt over and over.

I don't think this makes us better in the short term. Damn.

    DAY-UM!

i really don't think AD's comment about trading for a 5 was a factor in this deal

really seems like dallas actually offered luka in a trade out of nowhere and the lakers would've been absolutely brain dead to turn it down. christie wouldn't have played tonight had this been in the works

Yep. Rob is thinking or has a moved lined up with that pick in mind. I remember when Kawhi signed with the Clippers; the next move was Rob signing Danny Green. He isn't done. Still has 2 seconds, Rui, Austin, etc. Nobody is safe.

    Weeeeeeeeeee

another lakers trade completely out of left field. that's how the FO has operated for the most part the last few years

so i'm expecting a big man that isn't val, kessler, or vucevic. i'm thinking bam or capela
