I don't think it's the same price cause Chicago is ran by some lunatics who are out of touch with reality. Have been for decades. They overvalue their assets and hold on to them for years too long. If it's Vuc for a 1st vs CC for 2nds, give me Clint.

I think Rob needs to ask AD and JJ to a degree, what's more important: a big to play next to AD or a big who can prevent the walls from caving in when he sits. We can get someone who can do one of the two, but probably not both unless Indy changes their tune. Then go get that guy.

What NTMLE level guards are expected to be bought out? That's all we could sign.

Very interesting data here, I give Pelinka credit for not waiting until Vando came back to make a move, trading for DFS when he did has us still in the mix in the standings

Nice stats …. what a difference both sides of the ball DFS has made. Then you add Vando back and looking really good out of the gate. I agree with Slick he looks like he could have come back a week earlier but smart to be extra careful this time. And that he is an even more impactful defender than Dorian. Guy’s awesome at it. Another guy just like Finney-Smith that plays with a toughness edge to him and he’s quicker, bigger, stronger and gets up even tighter on his opponents. He’s really something.

yikes on murray...does this impact NO's plans? john wall was about the same age when he had the achilles (and was on a similar trajectory in many ways).

he's dead money next year and probably an overpay thereafter--is it time to press eject on the zion era?

The surgery, recovery and level of performance post injury has greatly improved since a Wall went through it. He doesn't rely on his athleticism as much as Wall did either. Still, he's probably not going to be the same or as good. That sucks, really enjoyed his game.

Yeah, if I'm NO i try to move all four of their top salaries. Zion, BI, CJ, and Murray (they'll have to wait on that one). Build around Murphy, Herb, Missi, and Hawkins. They fit next to any kind of headliner. So once they reset, they can pivot to whatever star they want once they clear the books and get picks to offer up for such a player.

you don't think he relies as much on athleticism as wall? i feel like he does, and i think it's part of why he had already experienced a mini-decline before the injury. also, i'm wondering if durant has warped our thinking on achilles injuries, as i'm having trouble thinking of someone else that really came back and looked similar in the nba. i guess nique looked ok (but not him) for a bit after his all those years ago. kobe was good but not kobe. durant's the only guy i can think of where i'm like--he looks really similar to the pre-injury version.

yeah, cj may be hard to move, but i think i'd use this injury as the excuse to move zion if i were managing that team. also to sell ingram at a lower price.

they actually own all their firsts going forward, so being bad next year and maybe the year after isn't the worst thing in the world. and if zion plays the rest of the year, they might win enough games to move out of a prime lotto position.

interesting--i thought the clips would swing bigger than this.

i honestly would have been ok had we moved for eubanks, though his name hadn't been on my radar.

    Here's why.

PJ and Mo hitting the buyout market in 3...2...

Rob, if you even think about a re-Mo...I swear!

ah...clips can also play the buyout market now without going into the tax--also can pick up players who made a ton of money and got cut, right? will be interesting to see who shakes loose and if they knew about it already.

Definitely not. Wall was challenging peak Russ as the fastest, most athletic player in the game. Difference was he didn't have Westbrick's explosiveness or anger. Wall was a HS track guy, he was next level fast.

Murray has never been in that conversation with the fastest or most athletic at his position. He has more smarts to him though, I think that'll be his crutch moving forward. If you're not a big man or don't have an absurd wingspan and succeed defensively, you have a certain level of basketball intelligence to you.

His decline has been tough to pinpoint as to the why. Rust from repeat injuries, bad roster fit, one of the worst defensive players in the modern era being his back court teammate, onslaught of injuries to teammates in NO limiting cohesion or lineup consistency.

He's the kind of player who looks better on better teams.

Brandon Clarke most recently. There's been 4-5 guys do down with it this year, so we'll have a better sample to operate from a year from now.
