Yeah I think the Spurs should be up there, unless they're targeting Luka or Any long-term.
I would love to get him, but don't see it happen.

Miami doesn't somehow turn a disgruntled Jimmy into Fox...right? The "he has a target destination in mind for 2026 free agency" screams Miami to me as they've been the team most obviously positioning for that summer.

I don't think its going to be Houston. FVV has been a steady hand at PG and they drafted Sheppard 3rd overall to eventually take that spot. Obviously Fox is a better player than FVV and likely better than Sheppard ever will be, but I think floor general PG and size/athleticism on the wing next to Sengun is the formula they want. I think they're going to hold out for a bigger upgrade at the 2 or 3, not at PG.

Weirdly though Sacramento might like those Lakers picks vs any of SA as with Wemby and Fox those are unlikely to be very good picks for Sac
Houston is more intriguing as they have swap rights on BKN plus a Dallas/Phx 1st rounder in 2029

Greater chance the Lakers wheels' fall of with Lebron's and AD age and AD's injury history

doubt the lakers ever had any real interest in trading for fox anyways considering what it would take to get him. i wonder if this is just fox's camp leaking this to make his path to SA or houston more clear or if fox is still butthurt over the lakers passing on him for lonzo

SA would make the most sense for him. pairing him with wemby would elevate that team

 

Listened to Nate Duncan's mock trade deadline. They had us trading Rui, Vando, Gabe, JHS, Wood, and the 2029 FRP unprotected for Lavine, Craig and a Top 10 protected future swap. Reddish had to be dumped in another deal to make it happen. Would leave us with:

LeBron / Knecht
DFS / Craig
AD / Hayes

That team could be really damn good offensively, but man is it thin and concerning defensively. It would take another offseason to round out the roster. I don't know that I'd do this.

Lavine is a nice piece when he is healthy, offensively it makes us really potent. But I think you can't play Reaves, Lebron and him together and expect a top 10 defence.

I'd prefer tampering with Lonzo and figuring out how to add him in the buy out. I think we got enough offence in the playoffs between Lebron, Reaves and AD plus some shooters. My dream scenario would be Turner and Lonzo - but so many things have to fall just right. It's a 1% shot, and if healthy, we'll be in conference finals for the next 2 years.

that's a very thin frontline with only 3 viable frontcourt playoff players. Unless you're expecting several buyout guys combine don't see that happening

Yep..Rob needs to pay attention,,to that not so subtle shot, AD sent across his bow. Or this summer he might be scrambling to figure out, how to get "like value " for Anthony Davis.

hmmm...not bummed about not being on fox's list. i don't think he's a tier-1 star or really even close to it. i AM mad we drafted lonzo over him--something i didn't like at the time, either.

anyway...what i AM bummed about is this further mucking up the trade market right now. between this and butler, so many things will be on hold.

that said, if the plan is really kessler or bust blinking contest, maybe it doesn't matter.

 

Agreed. I also favored him over Lonzo but am pretty meh on the thought of trading for him.
