Anyone know why Kareem wasn’t there? Coop didn’t mention him either in his acknowledgements to his teammates until later doing a one on one on court interview. Wonder if he just forgot. He looked so moved and shaken by his jersey going up that I didn’t expect at all the great long speech he gave.

Rob. It's doable. Couple right moves and we can be on the same trajectory.

    theoretically...

gafford and washington were both guys who were known to be on the block before the deadline AND dallas didn't have to touch their top guys to get them. i believe the cost was one first rounder in each case.

who are the two (young) rotation pieces that fill holes for us AND can be had for one first and don't require moving any of our top 6 players?

it's a tall order, but a decent thought exercise.

Yes, Gafford went for the 2024 FRP. PJ for the 2027 FRP. They also sent Holmes, Grant Williams and Curry in the process, none was a core rotation piece. And their star is Luka, a young superstar that is there when those picks happen.

Our picks happen after our superstars' window closes and we only have rotation players that are tradable. We can still make something happen but it's quite a different context.

i agree. they could afford to be a bit more cavalier with picks. i also think they were fortunate that those guys were available and happened to fit exactly what they could use. our needs are more specific (when luka's your star, you actually have a ton of roster flexibility, as you can sort of play him anywhere but center), and we'll see if the market is as friendly.

one big thing about those two was that they were both young and on good contracts. i don't really see any options like that out there this year.

JHS for Kessler is what he's trying and that is exactly that type of move. Just a matter of will Ainge blink before the deadline bell sounds.

A month ago Gabe for anyone doing more than cardio would've qualified, but with him getting into a groove that means Rui would be required for a an additional deal. With DFS and Vando in the mix, Rui drops out of that top 6.

can't figure out if the consistent noise coming from us about rui is just value-pumping or real sentiment. if it's real, we're basically down to kessler or sharpe as our options, and supposedly, sharpe's not good enough.

i'm not comfortable playing a game of chicken with ainge going down to the wire at the deadline.

i won't get nervous until the other center options start dropping off the board, though.

I’m pretty sure JJ, in spite of his praise for Rui, and the FO would prefer it being him moved over DK as well.

Abdul-Jabbar couldn't make it to Cooper's HOF induction as well as Gasol's. Just old age where he can't get around anymore would be my guess.

Grizz are 3.5 up on us but have the second most difficult schedule remaining.

    Couple moves and who knows.

Most important based on current standings is to get out of the 4/5 with Denver.

Fantastic, I agree with AD that we are only a couple pieces away from being in the mix

Are we saying that if we weren’t wearing those crappy jerseys that we went 1-9 that we actually might be second place in the Western Conference right now?

we don’t need a center. We just need jerseys we like to play in lol. How many of those we won, we’d actually have a shot at the third best record in the league. How crazy is that?

and it feels like we are not close to that record with our overall negative +/-
