Are you saying Kessler can guard Jokic?

No but watch the clip he would help over us not having him. When AD sits better than Hayes, Koloko, Rui, LeBron. AD plays him straight up sometimes when he’s fully mobile.

My 6 center targets in order:

Kessler is priority one for me. IF Ainge will stop being a donkey. Again: give them a first, take the protection off the pick they have, and salary filler. There's enough available bigs and the previously completed trades were done at a price point to where there shouldn't be an outrageous bidding war for him. I don't see anyone topping that offer IF he's available.

If not him, circle back to Sharpe. All Rob has to do is hit redial.

    SIGN ME UP!

    3rd: Nick Richards.

Those are the cheap guys who can help. I don't think Rob wants to spend much more than that.

    [/ end of tier one]

4th. Robert Williams: in order to consider this, I'm calling Portland and telling them he needs to play every game between now and the deadline. The "did not dress" DNPs and only rolling him out once as a proof of life isn't going to cut it. Put him out there 20 mpg and prove to buyers that he can hold up.

    End of the defensive help.

    [/ end of tier two]

    5th: Jonas.

6th: Vuc. I don't think we drop $20m on a center and I think the Bulls have some of the most unrealistic price tags on their guys in the league

If we keep looking for bigs on the cheap, we will keep getting mediocre results. I like Sharpe to replace Hayes, as the 3rd center. I want Rob to produce this 3pt shooting big that can play with AD, that he promised 2 seasons ago. Christian Wood is a 220 lb stretch 4.Or at least the big bruiser JJ wants..Sharpe is neither.

Yeah Jokic would abuse Kessler worse than he does AD. He's to slow for Jokic, I saw that Utah/Denver OT game, it was a Jokic highlight reel against him, but he's definitely better than anyone we have besides AD. You have to attack Jokic on offense and swarm him on D, like Minnesota did in the playoffs, and some teams are able to do now.

the whole idea of a center next to AD is to preserve AD to close halves at center. kessler/jv/sharpe/whoever is there to wrassle jokic and pick up fouls that AD would have picked up so that AD can go at him head to head in crunch time.

the other point is to not get murdered by scrubs in the paint whenever AD sits.

The Lakers last two games have been suspended due to the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area, but Michael Wright of ESPN.com reported Sunday that Monday's game is expected to be played

Kinda back to normal to discuss AD is beta, LeBron don't play no defense and how to trade s***tino for Mitchell

I do agree we should invest more in the position, but those guys... or the guy (Turner) you're looking for either isn't out there, can't play defense and/or is wildly expensive. You can't buy what's not for sale.

Sharpe at 265 is a bruiser. He's not a 3rd string C either. Hayes is elite at nothing. Jax is good at rim rolling and has that my-owner-just-got-home puppy energy. Sharpe is one of the best rebounding bigs in the league. He's ELITE on the offensive glass. I don't have a cleaning the glass subscription, but Lane references it a lot. Sharpe is either at a 95 or 98 percentile for offensive rebounding.

i've been pushing for sharpe since last year. i just feel like if it was going to happen, it would have happened as part of the DFS deal. you can't tell me we didn't try then, and his stock is probably rising currently.

You know it had to be discussed. No way it wasn't.

Irwin said they wanted an additional second for him (fair), but we wanted to canvas and could circle back if we don't like what we see. It HAS to be big fish then, Kessler is the only even rumored big who fits that bill. Everyone else is a backup and if we're backup hunting and with the direction we're building towards, I don't think you'll find better out there for what we're willing to offer up for a backup center.

I like your list and the order of preferences. If Robert Williams could guarantee staying healthy I would bump him up to #2, but that's not going to happen.

Oh yeah I see he's 6'11 265Lbs. Idk why I'm imagining him as around 215-220. Agh..I'm thinking the Sharpe kid in Portland, he's a guard. That's not a bad idea, live legs too.

I'd prefer an actual center, that can play 30 mins if needed with AD. I'm not married to the idea, that AD must play the 5 at all period. Like Vucevic

Yeah.. 6 rebs per in 16 mins a game is nice. It's an upgrade over Hayes but I'd still prefer Vucevic. At that price though, I would not complain about it. He's still a young guy. Maybe Clayton is actually the string bean I was thinking about. Vucevic is very much for sale though. I continue to say that if we get a decent big, what do we need Rui for now? If...if..Vanderbilt and Wood are playoff ready.

I want a real live starting caliber 5, and unleash Anthony Davis at his natural position, power forward. I think the league is going to shift towards more bigs on the floor in a few years. Small ball isn't going to last forever, hell that's a deadly combination right now IMO.

We could get Sharpe with Jalen and Hayes. Vucevic with Rui and Shake. What's wrong with that?

Additional 2nd that’s all?! Had to be also a different player we wanted to keep instead of Max II? I mean LOL eff those 2nds in the ear. He’s got 20lbs in his back pocket more than Kessler, can bang per you guys and sounds like a 6’11” Dennis Rodman.
