We know what the needs are. It’s Rob’s job to trade for those guys we, or the media aren’t constantly talking about. Was everyone throwing out “Gafford” and “Washington’s” names last season before Dallas grabbed them a went on a run? Nope. The best trades are usually the ones that come out of nowhere- you know, the ones that prove that the GM is a good one. We don’t need a big splash like BI or LaVine. We just need a well balanced roster. I wouldn’t give up any of the firsts right now, unless it’s for a young guy like Kessler who perfectly fits the rebuild timeline. There’s most likely not a trade out there that will turn us into a contender, but that shouldn’t stop Rob from fixing a couple of problems that have existed for two years straight.
Yeah. I’m a fan of his. I think he would fit in well with our guys. I think 2 picks is definitely a lot but not necessarily an overpay here.
their names were definitely out there, both on this forum and in the press. both myself and others were interested in both players, iirc.
Thanks for cutting the trip to Space Mountain short and getting our trade season started. Said he wanted 30 games to evaluate, stuck to that. After the 31st game, made a move. Great first move and got it done early enough in the season to really pay off. I'd like to see a big from one of these tanking teams in the next couple weeks. Race to the bottom is real.
We gotta get Walker Kessler. It's possible now. It should get done...and it shouldn't take too much I would trade Gabe and make our 2027 pick that UTA currently has unprotected...that way we don't give up any picks in this deal. Then...we could STILL potentially use the 2 firsts for another deal...we'll have Vando/Christie (maybe rui?) contracts and Wood/JHS/Reddish contracts to throw in there to match salaries.... Still so much we can do - great f***ing start man`
I’m keeping Christie out of marginal trades. He’s shown real improvement and still has room for a lot more in the next few seasons.
He's moved into pole position as my #1 target now due to talent, upside, fitting the description from Shams as the type of players we're looking for, his salary, being a ceiling raiser, and what we have left to trade. I'm just not sold on DA being realistic on evaluation especially when it comes to dealing with the Lakers. I definitely don't think that's enough. Why would they want Gabe? They'd want an expiring and JHS checks that box. Also just taking off the protections isn't tangible enough of a get to sell the fans on. He'll cost a first + that. If I had to guess, DA wants two firsts. Market will determine he's worth one. I think a fair middle ground is a top 13 protected first + removing protections from the current pick they own.
Danny Ainge will trade with you under one condition, he wins the trade. He has the luxury of time on his side, whereas anyone trying to compete for a championship does not - so eventually someone capitulates and gives him what he wants. I dare say he would ask for 2 1sts and taking the protections off our pick they are owed plus some players.
i'd make jsm's offer and no more (i might go to top-10 protection). feel like danny could claim victory by getting that protection removed (we could be very bad in 27), and he definitely doesn't want to pay kessler while they're still in a rebuild. i'm still a bit confused as to how we made a deal with bkn and didn't just have sharpe thrown in, so i'm expecting something for a center, especially after jj came out and said it was a need.
I swear he slowed his walk to make sure the camera caught him. Post trade victory strut. It's like Hitchcock walking across the frame in one of his own movies.
Oh geeze!! Why wouldn’t he want to be checking out his latest handiwork in the gym about to give this team a huge boost? Look for a fire lit under Rui’s butt too to be even better than how he’s been coming along if he wants to keep starting.
He’s gotta stay up with the latest fashion trends since the other half of his time in spent in the Hollywood Spotlight.
man, i really hope that we haven't been able to play this way all year and just held it back whilst getting our a**** kicked by s***ty teams on several occasions. that's worse than being a bad roster. if we were sitting in third place right now, rob's phone calls would be a LOT easier.
We haven't held back jack..lol Perhaps the C Bags playing an overtime game the night before, had a little bit to do with things?
Have to hope this isn’t true and it’s just being put out there because trade season. If it is true, then trade the stars away if you don’t have faith in them, I don’t want confirmation that they’re just using them for ticket and jersey sales. Wasting LeBron’s final years and AD’a prime is not ok
