That's actually the series that AD got hurt in, IIRC.

ROFL. Hell, we didn't even make the PO's with/Russ. ROFL.

AD was hurt most of the season, where were you? Lebron went down with the high ankle sprain, after Solomon dove into his leg. A hobbled Lebron and AD kept us in the Phoenix series, but once AD couldn't go anymore on one leg, it was a wrap.

We didn't even make the playoffs because Lebron and AD missed even more time in that season, and Rob went out and signed a bunch of dudes, who were all out of the league in the following year.

s***, I made your Westbrook thread interesting, because it wasn't s*** else going on during that time. Slick against the entire board!!! Lol

You should be thankful for me getting you some shine!!! I thoroughly enjoyed trolling you and LT, over Westbrook that entire season!

I’m not trying to argue the Russ trade - it was a mistake and he didn’t fit here. But I also don’t blame it on the front office, I blame it on LeBron and AD pushing for that trade.

What I’m blaming the front office for is their errors on the margins, letting brook go, letting Dwight go, letting Caruso go, letting Schroeder go. These were all good players that wanted to stay and could have helped us over the last 3 years.

I’m sorry for the double post, but I don’t think people quite get how much better we would have been with Lopez and Caruso. Caruso is one of the best POA defender to throw at Murray, SGA, Booker, Ja, Steph, Fox or any other guard that kills us.

Lopez turned into an excellent rim protector and would have unlocked AD to free roam the paint. They would be an excellent pair against Jokic. Plus his ability to space the floor meant we could play Lebron, AD and a big succesfully.

Heck throw in Schroeder in there that’s close to 40% from three and a live wire off the bench and we’d be a way better team.

letting lopez walk was a huge mistake (people said so at the time, too), but it got swept under the rug a bit because we won a ring after it.

the caruso choice was a fireable offense on its own, tbh.

anyway, not getting schroder back with assets we didn't have is a weird reason to dredge all this up, imo.

if anything, i take schroder moving early as a good sign for the trade market--teams are naming their prices and moving when they're met. this is better than dragging it out to the trade deadline hoping to squeeze a first rounder out of someone only to settle for exactly the same deal that was available in december. maybe teams are learning from the farcical bogdanovic situation that played out over two years and ends with everyone involved looking dumb.

Whatever move that we make, some folks are going to like it, and some wont. It's beyond obvious, that we need to do something. I just hope it doesn't end up being Valanciunas and Brogdon.

ngl; after schroder went so early, i'm hoping to hear that we're closing the jv trade like, today. can't imagine his market is that big. the only team that needs a center more than we do is the team that let him walk in FA.

sounds like the nets plan to maybe drag out the cam johnson and maybe DFS trades until the deadline, though. i get it on johnson--he's the last thing they have left from the durant trade, and he's a good player on a good contract. i'm not sure 1 1st does it for me if i'm not getting a prospect back, too. i'd rather just keep him.

DFS's price should be similar to schroder's, imo.

I'm hoping the only reason they're waiting is because we'll need Gabe for tonight's game. Hoping to get Valanciunas announcement right after the loss, that'll also take some of the talks away from Ja beating us.

I'm very encouraged the Nets are open for business this early at realistic price points.

If they only want expirings, I'm curious to see that approach. If we're giving up DLO, can we milk an additional asset out of them? If it's not DLO, can we make the Wiz deal a 3 team one because reportedly they're not requiring expirings in return.

I’m fine with trading for Val, but he won’t help our biggest issue: awful defense.
I understand that we are trading from a point of desperation, but it’s going to take several trades in order to get back guys who can play D.

I was banned and couldn't log in for months. Your posts don't roll anybody into a brain aneurysm. Don't you live in Houston? You're in your 60's, right? Maybe that's why you have such a very minuscule understanding of the new CBA or how the modern game works, right?

I think that humidity in Houston might be getting to you Ray. If you wish to continue this dialogue, I'd be more than happy to in private or we can move along; I'll move along to what I'm doing and make money, and you'll probably move along to a bingo game or something...

Not to mention we already traded a "first" to OKC along with Danny Green. Why the heck would we want to include more draft capital and get the same player we had twice. That would just be moronic.

I get it, though. Fans are just tired of being stuck in the mud with LBJ/AD and no moves being made. I would be too "If" LBJ was younger. I'm not sold on AD as the number 1, and I have a feeling post-Bron, we're going to feel it in more ways than we can think about. To throw firsts at players when he's probably retiring this year or next would just be shortsighted. Don't care if I have to wait a longer window to compete again.

GS just got an impact player (we'll see if he works on GS) for seconds; go make something happen, Rob.

yeah, my hope is that schroder for expiring and 2 seconds helps set the market. and that has been about the market for a while (royce oneale went for that last year, right?).

the main issue is that our only expiring (dlo) is sort of not easily replaceable on the roster and thus might necessitate a second trade if his contract is used.

Rob needs to get creative to make it work

We really need a big that can play defense and there is no excuse for him not to bring one in

Wait what …. LOL? Yes Slick PM’d me and asked what happened to “Pops”. I thought he was referring to LavarBallsDad who we’d tease back and forth and he had in his sig “also LTLakerFan’s dad” if I recall correctly. So I’d roll with it and call him Pops sometimes. He got a long time out and then came back with a different handle and wound up getting actually banned. You’re not him are you?

The problem is: Does Rob actually know that we need another big who can defend after he went away from the Dwight/McGee pairing?
Marc was decent, but way too slow at that point in his career to handle any kind of switch.
One of Rob’s biggest flaws is his constantly over correcting. He had a formula that worked with the Bubble team and inexplicably went every which way but loose after that.
I understand having to swap players out due to managing contracts, as well as having to adjust ball handling duties as LeBron has aged, but there seems to be a different blueprint drawn up every year.
