Good: went the distance with the best regular season team in the West... and it's not close between them any anyone else. Back to back games playing the best defense we've seen all year. Back to back strong DLO games. DK with back to back 20 point games as he's moved back into the starting group. Rui's been more engaged and active defensively, more crashing efforts (not to OCT levels but better) in the past two, as well. And AD had an elite showing defensively. If you're sending in one game for award consideration, that's the game. The bad: Bron is gassed. 4+ TOs in the past 9. 5+ in the last handful. TOs and defense have been bad, can get by with one being subpar but not both. Gravity is starting to win out on those jump passes. Shots close to the rim are falling short more frequently (usually while not getting a blatant foul). The J is hit and miss even though the % is still really good. He needs the upcoming break. Austin had a rough go before and after the injury. This is a prime example of a team that can get physical, get the refs favor, and make AR uncomfortable. Hartenstein looks great for them and this is only game 4. Knew the Knicks had to choose. I really wanted us to get him, didn't think he'd cost quite that much. JJ should've closed with DLO. If we're still not trusting him even after that kind of play, he's gotta go.
Neither! I am just being respectful to my friends on here ! I don’t wanna ruin anyones feelings by having nothing but negative things to say about the podcast boy . So feel free to put me away until this clown is running the show . It’s a win/win situation. I’ll be back when his a** is fired ! It could be next week it could be never ! Lol Nevermind I don’t have any friend here ! I meant my ALLIES
If you are sick of me! Or I am a pessimist! You know me, I am a loose cannon, might open my mouth and say something political. I used to be able to behave, Keyword USED TO . Edit: I didn’t mean political I meant something negative about LeBron or jj
After a rough hard-fought loss to OKC in LA, Lakers go into Utah and win by a point 105-104, and if Sexton had gotten that last shot off and made it we'd've all been in sheer madness and misery, but he fumbled it. Also: sorry Hardy, but you called a TO before Sexton made that layup with 1.6 secs left. It probably seemed like a good idea at the time. It did cost you a win, though. I don't understand what AD was thinking on Sexton's layup: if you watch it, AD sees time's running out and Sexton's beaten Rui to the rack, he's coming over but doesn't really get a good contest on it and was way late. It's not like he was screened or boxed-out. He appears to have heard the timeout was called?: Cray! Here's what Dan Woike of the LA Times got from AD after the game: “I stopped,” Davis said. “He ended up making it. I don’t know if he would’ve ended up making it. I probably would have blocked it.” (source) Ohhhkay. You stopped because you heard the timeout called? He did end up making it, AD. I get you don't want to run over to contest at the rim when he's goin' high off the glass because if they call you for a foul, he wins it at the line. Or something. You'd say: Lakers should've beaten the crap out of the Jazz after all we've been through recently, but D-Lo and Cam were sick, AR was missing from the fallout from that nasty spill under the basket against OKC. Understandable. Jaxson is out for 3 weeks. We were shorthanded and still got the win on the road. We will take it. AR's "pelvic contusion" - even the name makes me wince in sympathy pain - snapped 129 straight games AR played in. Apparently just standing up is painful, so he may be out against the T-Wolves. Man, that game's shaping up to be rough. What went right: We won the 3rd Q again: 28-25. JHS played good D, I thought. And Gabe's defense on John "Groinpuncher" Collins late, forcing a TO in the post: big. Lebron looked better than he had the last two games, covering for when AD was resting on the bench. That little lefthanded shovel shot to put us up 3 with 41 secs left was vintage. Our superstars carried the day: AD 33/11; the Old Man 27 with 14 assists. He put up 14 shots in the 4th, making only 5. But hey: a win is a win. Weird stat of the night: Max Christie shot more FTs and made more than any other Laker. AD went 5 for 6 from the line, Lebron 3 for 3. Max: 8 for 10. I don't see that happening again this season. For once we got more offensive rebounds than the opponent: 10-8. Traore, JHS, and Koloko got significant minutes. What went Wrong: Lebron's once very good 3-ball has taken time off for the holidays, and today was particularly glaring: 0-9 from deep. The Lakers as a team attempted 33 3s, made only 7. It's a rare game where you're an NBA team, shoot that poorly from outside, and still eek out a win. With all our illnesses and injuries, I'd say we are lucky to get out of Salt Lake with a W. And if you watch that last minute, you know we were lucky AF. Admit it and move on.
Game ball goes to Hardy. Can't confirm but I think when they break from their huddles, the team says 1-2-3...Flagg!
ok, i've read all the comments, but...i think AD blocks that if there's no timeout called? though i suppose there was time for a lob or a dumpoff. also, i need a different angle, but hardy was crossing midcourt trying to call timeout by the time sexton gets the step on rui, so it's possible he was trying to call it a couple seconds prior to that. i just wonder how many players saw that and if the play would have ended with that result had their coach not been yelling for a timeout.
Always like your views. It's the world we live in, this type of stuff gets blown just for the clicks. And I agree it's funny to run the Flagg jokes. He asked for the timeout when Sexton got trapped. It's still a bad call because you got an explosive guard against Rui who isn't quick, it's a mismatch with the defense not settled so you ride with it. He should also know that asking a TO in a live play always take more time because all eyes are on the play and it takes a couple seconds for the refs to notice and call it. We got lucky anyway but I take it. So many guys out and an ugly game throughout, it's great we got the dub. Really not expecting a win today. Wouldn't even mind forfeit it and sit Bron/AD
i'd sit lebron tonight; he looks like he needs the rest. if dlo's healthy, i'd throw him out there with a huge green light to try to stick it to his old team. if he shoots us out of the game, AD gets some second half rest, lol.
I expect a bloodbath, we're on a BTB on the road against a Minnie team that just went through a rough patch and looks like they're back on the beam. Maybe rest both AD and Lebron and hope for a repeat of our game in BOS last year?
I can’t believe politics were spoken in here. I am going to close all my social media accounts now and make sure I announce it everywhere so people know how serious I am.
Any idea who is Lakers going to play ? Is it only Western conference or any team.Is it home or away games During the knockout rounds, on the days where no NBA Cup games are scheduled — Thursday, Dec. 12, Friday, Dec. 13, Sunday, Dec. 15 and Monday, Dec. 16 — the 22 teams who didn’t qualify for the knockouts will each play two regular-season games
I don't think anyone knows right now. Remember last year, when we were the first team to win the NBA Cup, only to proceed to play like the Washington Generals for a month after that? I have sour memories of this Cup business. Get it out of the way ASAP, I say! I know the games count in the standings and the "poor" min salary guys get paid if their team wins, but I'm not hot on the Cup, if only for the hideous floors. Others will be super into it. Different lanes for different brains. Different takes for different snakes. Different creeks for different geeks. Different stances for fans of Stu Lantzes. Etc.
Another blowout, but it was expected So really nothing went wrong except for big check for LeBron lol
This team sucks! Rob, do your damn job and trade for some help! I don’t want to hear your lame excuses. LeBron is sucking right now and it’s painful to witness.
