Listened to Buha's pod from yesterday. He asked JJ about QO before the NO game and there currently aren't any plans to bring Quincy up to the big team. Unfortunately. Buha didn't get to follow up regarding what he's seen from him or what it would take to get a call up
Gabe is to Redick as Prince is to PocketPool Hambone. I sure hope JJ is right about this one because currently, Vincent’s numbers are some of the worst I’ve ever seen for a Laker.
At least Gabe isn't starting and resulting in better players stuck on the bench while his corpse stunk up the starting group. Rui and Vando were stuck behind him. Austin and DLO each were pulled from the starting group long before TP was correctly slotted. JJ is more much fluid with minute and role distribution. What's funny, just looked, Gabe averaged more MPG in his 11 games with Ham vs his 13 games under JJ. I think it'll be much easier to play Quincy after our mid-season trade. I heard there is some concern that if you make that move now, you completely bottom out whatever microscopic value Gabe has. Also you can only play your two way guys a total of 90 games (50 for any one player), so they might want to be cautious with Koloko having to play because of a non existent front court depth chart.
Makes some sense. I can see being able to talk Gabe up in a trade based on “he just didn’t fit with us” and “look at what he did with Miami in the playoffs.” If he gets buried on the bench now, there may not be enough lipstick and eye shadow available to paint him up.
This dude can contribute. Don't let him go to a random team please! If one can score almost 30ppg in the D-League and hit almost 45% of his threes... yeah. He can be useful to us.
Can he play defense? I mean despite Cardio Gabe well being Cardio Gabe he is still seeing minutes literally only because he plays some semblance of defense. Wish some of the G league reporters actually comment on how he is on that side fo the ball
Raj is covering them this year so I think we should get better twitter/X content compared to previous years.
I really think we are keeping him hidden because he's on a 2-way. Dec.15 is coming, expecting a roster spot to be open and Olivari unleashed with a full contract. No other reason for not having opportunities, especially today
Meh interesting timing. In the initial report it only said inactive. Didn't see the injury, but I trust you. I can see them coming with an injury to avoid any whispers. It's at least the 3rd time there's a lack of bench depth where the opportunity is clear to give him some minutes. I really think it's on purpose and a way to ensure he's locked up with us, I think they know we got a baller there Not to mention him deserving an opportunity over Gabe for like 10 games. There's something there...
