What are his defensive metrics? Could be a good buy low deal for us since he is having a poor shooting season thus far. Thing of note: He is a Chicago kid and so is Max.

    Dlo/JHS/Lewis/two 2nds for Willams/Thybulle.

We give Portland clean slate for two injury prone players that don't seem to be in their plans. When healthy, both are arguably elite defensive players. Their contracts are not that bad either. 2 yrs/24 for Willams and 2 yrs/23 for Thybulle. We dump two unused players in jhs/Lewis. Open up roster spot for Olivari.

    :Jeanie Srsly:
Mike Budenholzer said Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal were full participants in today's practice on-court, did 3-on-3.

Will see how they feel afterward. Off Saturday. Looking to do 5-on-5 Sunday with the hope to have Beal and Durant ready for Tuesday's game vs. Lakers.

Jokic didn't miss a beat.He already got triple double ,scored 31 points and 15 rebounds. Freaking Murray getting ready for tomorrow. He played almost 40 minutes and scored just 12 points on 4 for 16 shots :ADGlance:
Dallas won without Luka and Klay scored 0 points

i thought of ayton the other day, but couldn't find enough salary that didn't kill us in the process. i'm pretty sure portland would like to just move on from him.

i'd rather go with a much lower salaried center, given that it's not our only problem and none of these names are stars/high impact players.

gabe, max, or vando and seconds for jonas basically as soon as he's eligible to be moved works for me.

Jonas makes the most sense; the writing has been on the wall during the summer. Washington signed him so they could trade him and it's Lakers target. We've done business with them in the past, etc etc.

He gives us size and some rebounding, but he sucks defensively, he's slow, can't be used in any switches, he'll get abused. That said, you can sub out AD or maybe even give AD a game off here and there and sub in Jonas. He'd be an interesting mix with Hayes. At the very least, it gives us another option and addresses 1 need on this team. It isn't ideal, but it is what it is.

Still need a 2 way wing. Finney-Smith, Ayo, Coming around to Cam Johnson (who I might include a first for the way he's been playing), etc. Bruce Brown is coming off arthroscopy, and I don't want to deal with another injured player.

Jonas is a defensive and offensive rebounding machine. Lakers are 27th in rebounds per game and 24th in offensive rebounds per game. Vincent + 2025 Clippers 2nd + 2026 2nd + 2028 2nd for Jonas.

Cam Johnson is a slightly above average defender, but I feel we need a real difference maker to replace Vando for this season, while he is out. I look at Cam as an upgrade over Rui though both on offense and defense. With that said, maybe it would be good if we could get both DFS + Cam. DFS is more of a difference-maker on defense than Cam.

The NBA can set a new triple-double record.
This season, already players collected 27 triple-dubles for 215 games . This is an average triple double every 7.96 matches, which is the second in league history.

Until Monday NBA went at a pace that exceeded the record season 2020/21, in which the highest – one triple double was recorded every 7.61 matches.

Nikola Jokic, which leads the league with six triple scores 30.0 points, 14.0 rebounds and 11.5 assists on average per game. Lakers LeBron James – five triple doubles and Detroit Cade Cunningham – four.

Totally cool with Gabe + 2nds for Val. I think it ends up happening. The other one I want to see is DLO/Christie/Wood and whatever draft compensation for Schroder/DFS.

    Reaves / Schroder
    Knecht / Reddish
    Vando / DFS
    LeBron / Rui
    AD / Val / Hayes

I think we need to gamble on Vando’s health because he’s the rare big wing that can also defend primary ballhandling guards. Other wings available like DFS and Cam Johnson can be good defenders, but in different roles. We would have a ton of size across the frontcourt at all times. If Vando becomes an issue in a particular matchup, Schroder can do a pretty decent job at the POA as we saw in 2023.

Nikola Jokic leads the NBA in terms of the percentage for 3 points shots – 58.5
Nikola Jokic is in 1st place in the NBA
    24 of 41 (58.5%).

The five leaders are also included Josh Green from Charlotte (19 of 34, 55.9%), Tay Jerome from Cleveland (27 of 49, 55.1%), our good friend Prince from Milwaukee (32 of 61, 52.5%) and Kyrie Irving from Dallas (43 of 84, 51.2%).

Biggest surprise that Rui at 6 place with 50% 36 for 72
Dalton Knecht so far 13 (35 of 76,46.1%
    )
    And LeBron 33 (59 of 81,43 %)

Excellent plan to bolster the bench, but I am not sure those guys would be worth giving up 1st for. If we use those bullets I would at least try to get someone young enough for the next era. Not much out there really. DJM type pick up. Maybe expand the Wizards trade to include Poole? Still only 25. Putting up good stats on an awful team. I know hes not a noted defender and he has been inefficient until now,but he is genearally a good shooter and leads nba in steals. Maybe something based on Dlo/Gabe/JHS/Wood/Max/two 1st/2 2nds for Poole/Jonas.

Kuz is one of the most over rated players in the NBA. I wouldn't want to get him back.
