I’d love to get Robert Williams. He and AD would be insane together. Watching Utah the other night, Markkanen would be a guaranteed ring next to Lebron and AD.

Why don't we want AD to play much 4? He's the best power forward in the game. So much so, that he's a pretty good 5, most of the time.

Adding Nikola and Jonas make us the Western Conference Champs this season. We'll find some more guards, that's what Rob does.

What's wrong with more offense? That's all we get from Rui. Keep in mind that I like Yasuke. Vucevic gives you size, rebounding, and spacing too. If his defense was on par with his offense, he wouldn't be available. He'd be All NBA caliber.

    " AD/Lebron/AR/Knecht"

    That's not enough firepower.

me too, but i'm not sure jj wants that. i don't think he truly has plans to play AD at the 4 much, no matter who the personnel may be. and i think we'll be choosing offense over defense on most occasions. i don't love it, but the writing is on the wall.

i'd still like to just get a bruiser to play for 15mpg and take some of the strain off AD's legs, whether said big starts or plays off the bench. mason plumlee would have been just fine by me.

yeah, don't like paying much in trade for kessler when you're going to have to turn around and overpay him in FA. this is why danny is open to moving him, imo.

williams has played 6 and 35 games the past two years. his cost would have to be low, and i don't think portland plans on giving us anything at a low cost, ever.

no he hasn't? his numbers are similar to what he was putting up last season and in less minutes. he's slow, but he's still very much effective

The Lakers are a top 4 offense since the Dlo benching/starting Knecht. They score at will.
I've been very high on Knecht since the draft and if he plays like he has been it's like the perfect offensive complement to AD/Lebron/AR. An off-ball 3 level scorer to add to an MVP candidate, Lebron Magic era, and another great playmaker in AR. Not sure what you need more here

They can't stop anybody still if Cam isn't on the floor - they gave up 40 points against Utah in the 4th quarter.

For now..that's not going to be sustainable long term against good teams and in the playoffs.

I like it- maybe it will get guys to actually care about playing real basketball during the All Star “game.”
Something like this should have happened years ago. That being said, props to Alien Commish for doing something to switch it up.

Another piece from Athletics .I just posted some regarding West and Lakers

Dalton Knecht is the best rookie so far: Sell. He’s been hot against two bad teams, but we really haven’t seen him do much against the good opponents. Still, the 17th pick out of Tennessee can really shoot that thing for his squad (10-4). Sixers guard Jared McCain has probably been the best rookie so far. It’s a weird class.

The Warriors are contenders: Buy. Even with some frustrating injury news, I love the makeup of this Warriors team (11-3). There are so many similarities to what we saw from them in 2022 when they won it all. They would be my pick to come out of the West right now.

The Lakers are contenders: Sell. I want to buy into them, and I’m not even saying they can’t get past Denver like the last two seasons. The Lakers’ offense has been stellar after being mediocre last year. However, their defense and rebounding are pretty bad. Can’t contend like
    that.

Alright, I have a player in mind: Ayo Dosunmu. He's 6'5" with a with a 6'10" wingspan. He isn't sexy. He isn't a knockdown shooter. He's shifty, can get downhill, has the ability to defend, etc. He's making $7 million this year. I remember when we got Ariza in 09. He was coming to a contender that gave him a role since the heavy lifting was already being done by Kobe and Pau and other pieces. As a result, he played great in the PO's and we won the championship

Again, if you look at this stats, they're probably not impressive, but I would like the fit here. I think he works if you simplify his role off the bench. Donovan uses him to close games, too.

Yes please! Tired of the West being a knock out, drag out fight to the final while the East gets to skate by with only two... maybe three real teams.

The two best teams in the NBA are in the East. I don't think any West team,as currently constructed, is a title favorite. 3 or 4 pretty good teams, nobody is elite.

Sure but there's so much more parity in the West to the point it's not fair to half the conference and definitely not fair the east gets to coast for half their schedule. 12th in the West is better than 5th in the East. With the play in and play offs, West teams are more prone to be hanging on by spit and glue by the time they reach the finals. East contenders get a easy ride and multiple bye weeks in the post season.
