What's weird I dont' remember him at all from Summer League.
He kind of came out of nowhere in that Bucks pre-season game.
Really small sample size but @abeer3 did post highlights from his college career and it's not that surprising he would be decent?

I know we have a guard glut but the dude can shoot and be a pest on defense that is exactly what the Lakers need and Gabe seems very inconsistent nowadays and frankly Olivari shot just looks better.

Same here with the nothing jumping in Summer League and then BOOM against the Bucks. Summer League is just tough .... a lot of guys trying desperately to get noticed to have a shot, and not a whole lot of time to learn team concepts.

his shot's not a fluke. it looks a little funny, but he's shot 40% for years, and he can do it on the catch or off the dribble from what i've seen/read.

he's not an explosive athlete, vertically or laterally. but he's got some nifty shots and seems like a gym rat. long arms, good strength.

i'm cautiously optimistic that he can really help and sooner than say, jhs.

edit: i'll echo that he didn't stand out in summer league. he may be a guy that looks better in a system and with better teammates. though he did kick a** in college.

Speed wise on POA maybe he falls between Schroder and Vincent? Is he faster than Gabe? Guess we'll find out at some point when he starts getting some minutes. Better shooter for sure.

Cool to hear him tell how he found out he's getting the two way deal. Confirms there was other interest if we didn't make a move. Also refreshing to hear his outlook on JJ getting onto him

he's basically gabe's size but a more proven shooter at the same stage. similar player profile. don't think he can be a deaaron fox defender, not that many can.

Hopefully this isn't the only time he gets 15 seconds of fame as a Laker.

When the team gets back to LA, it's time to give him the Gabe minutes.

Playing him and Reddish will give the effort and energy out there. Pretty sure Quincy can make more 3s in one game than Gabe has made since we signed him. I'm serious, go look at his totals.

it proves a point and hopefully will wake some of the guards the f*** up, the ones who thought their spot was locked

i actually looked up the start of the g league today to see how soon he can start getting some reps, as gabe and dlo's bags are getting packed, and jhs's were packed and thrown in the alley the other day.

I was thinking the same thing: teams needs a pest on defense and who can shoot. He could fit the bill and it's not like the competition is killing it. In fact the opposite

I’m genuinely curious how he would look with the main squad if just given Gabe’s minutes. Like could it really be worse? It probably could be if he’s not good on defense, but still I’m curious to see. He looks worlds better than JHS in the game going on right now

Edit: he finished the game with 28 points, 6 assists, 10 boards, 8-19 overall, 7-15 from 3.

Really like this kid. Great start with that stat line.

Definitely in favor of giving him the minutes of some of our dead weight.

It’s decent, it’s better than JHS for sure, he dribbles with confidence and purpose compared to him

starting to feel a little like a reaves situation. i think we'll find a way to have him on a real contract by season's end.

We need to find some minutes for this guy

Like you said we have so much dead weight we might as well bring him up early in the season to get some NBA game speed experience

He can't be any worse than Vincent, no one can. You bring a track and field guy with great stamina (without any real bball experience) and he'll do as much, as Vincent does. Dude is trash, good luck trading that Rob...
