no, no, the AD trade was the overpay. paying more for paul george was just more 4-d chess from the clips.

Don't really care how you slice it; OKC might get another lottery pick. That's just crazy.

    Trade Idea:

Option 1: Reaves, Russell, Vincent, JHS, Hayes, 2025 Clippers 2nd, 2029 Lakers 1st (unprotected) , and 2031 Lakers 1st (top 5 protected) to Charlotte for Ball, Richards, Micic, and Washington.

    Why for Lakers?

We really don't have a point guard of the future. Reaves and Russell are question marks. JHS is a no go. Vincent is a back up. Ideally, Reaves would develop into that role, but there are still questions about his ability to handle the ball under pressure, etc. It seems like a foregone conclusion that Russell will be out of the picture soon, and Vincent is more of a backup than a starter. JHS has looked terrible. Ball is only 23 and is an exciting young 6-7 point guard who could pass and score. I haven't heard any questions about his ball handling and defense, so I guess he is passable in those areas. Probably still need somebody else to defend the opposing ones though, kind of like Rozier did. Ball solidifies the point guard position. Micic was a 30-year old rookie last season. Played in Europe. He is a functional back up point guard. The Lakers have been targeting Richards, so they get him as well for the backup center upgrade. Washington is cap filler, but helps with point guard depth.

    Why for Hornets?

They go into full tank mode in a great NBA draft. Ball has been plagued with injury early on in his career, so they may have questions about him. Russell is expiring, so they could just waive him. Vicent, Hayesm and JHS don't really jeopardize making the team better. Reaves does, but he is still a lesser player than Ball. Reaves also seems to be the type of player who would keep the seats filled for them while they are loosing, and could be a decent building block for their future in his own right. Charlotte gets valuable picks. The Clippers pick will likely be in the 30s, and our 29 and 31 could be in the lottery.

kawhi at least has won a couple titles and finals mvps, so his case isn't as sad as guys like oden, roy, or rose

he's basically going to go out like nash did with us aka not retire despite not physically being able to play anymore to collect the money he's owed

    Another injured big for OKC
Jalen Williams suffering a left ankle sprain and getting knocked out of the Thunder's preseason finale.
So Chet should be playing 40 + minutes

    Come back home.
The Pacers are waiving Swider on Friday, Tony East of SI.com reports.

Swider spent the preseason with Indiana but was unable to secure a roster spot. He will now enter the 2024-25 campaign as a free agent
JJ will work his magic and you with Connect4 will be biggest stars

All of this. Particularly how AD gets vilified while Kawhi coasts. It’s wilder when you think about how even his teammates like Tony Parker called this out about him way back when he was with the Spurs.

Thats before I get to the things I heard (and seen to be corroborated on some level by the media) about how him and his team strung us along and made outrageous demands of us.

    So yeah. Not a fan

    Regarding Kawhi
«It is not Kendrick Perkins who decides when the future member of the Hall of Fame ends his career ». Chandler Parsons commented on the words of ESPN host
Kendrick Perkins advised Kawai Lenard to consider ending his career.

I don't think we move AR in any deal unless we're getting a top 10...top 12 guy back. 1) FO loves him. 2) homegrown that matters to them. 3) his contract.

I hear you. I don't want to get too ahead, but it seems at some point Knecht would have to start, especially since he's 23 already. I know people say it doesn't matter who starts, it matters who finishes the game, blah, blah, blah. That's Darvin Ham speak. Reddick was recently a player and he is a realist. He knows players prefer to start, no matter how graceful they try to be about it. Reddick also knows that if a player is talented enough to warrant a starting job, he's going to start the guy and not mess around. We could end up with a log jam, un less Lakers feel comfortable with Reaves at the 1. Might be fine with a defensive small forward like Max or Vando and Lebron playing a little more with the ball?

    What is this s***

    Who cares :LLLLLebronlaughing:
Starting this season, the league is going to publish scores for every in-game dunk with a formula measuring more than 25 factors ranging from jump height to ball velocity as it goes through the rim. And yes, style points like body rotation will be included, as will elements that account for whether a defender got posterized in the process.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the highest-rated dunk of 2023-24 was Anthony Edwards’ slam over John Collins, which netted a Dunk Score of 124.4 (in addition to two points).

He’s not a NBA player. You have to have more than one skill in your bag- especially when that skill is very inconsistent.

This will ONLY increase injuries while stupid players try to get high scores. I call BS on this concept.

I was really hoping to get him some sort of pre season action. He'll need it after missing as much time as he did. I get they're hype carful with blood clots but the fact that we added him over a month ago made me believe he was close to getting the all clear
