once we can aggregate vet mins, i think we can get one more useful player via trade. just have to ride it out until then.
I’m encouraged to see how these guys are handling a more structured offense. I see the vision and especially appreciate the enthusiasm for a little direction and urgency even in preseason. It’s going to be solid offense and I think a defense that’s better than expected by the time we’re 15 games in.
we were a middle of the pack offense last year. if we just move up a few spots there and don't lose anything defensively = progress. not my preference (bring me back the top-5 defense, plz), but it's better than before.
Again, we NEED Vando back in order to become a very good defensive team. We need a huge break, for him to return sooner than later. See what I did there?
We were top 3 offense in the last 20 games last year (where we were playing this lineup). We are picking up from there and, imo, elevating our offense. If we can do that and get a top 10-12 defense, we will be very good. I think our floor when healthy, depends on the minutes without AD, if we get close to neutral there, I think we can win a lot of games
This one was not good. I felt low energy from almost everyone. Maybe too much Vegas party? That resulted in bad rebounding, bad transition defense and a predictable offense. Maybe just one of those days. A good one to have in preseason and learn from the mistakes Didn't like not giving a run to Olivari after last game. Especially at the expense of Bronny who ate those last minutes. The kid deserved an opportunity Bright spots were Knecht, his shot is beautiful. Rui upped his rebounds too. And our 3rd and 4th unit have started to look better the last couple of games, which is an advantage compared with last year. It doesn't mean a ton for the starting group, but it shows the work done in camp and it increases the possibility of some of those players becoming good enough to increase our depth
Yeah, I thought AD was really good out there. Shot was falling too. Rui's aggressiveness has stepped up the past couple games and he's been fighting for rebounds... FINALLY! Dalton got going during garbage time, I'm glad he's getting the attempts up now to get that rhythm and get acclimated cause in a week he's not going to get 13 and 15 attempts so we need the attempts he gets to drop. Olivari should've gotten some of the JHS minutes... he was awful. I was expecting a reward for him after winning the last game for us.
Yeah AD was great, he has no answer against the Warriors. I think JHS needs more runs than Bronny, so I think Olivari should have played in Bronny's spot. But yeah, it's a minor thing but not cool they didn't play him
This was the worst preseason game so far. One good thing was how dominant Ludabrow was, and I like the two big man pairing of Hayes and Ludabrow, moving him over to the 4. If only we had another big man so we can get back to something resembling the 2020 team.
Stiff offense, missed open shots. I do like where this is going, in general; seems like our new coach has good ideas, but it looks like it's going to take some time to fully click. It's a work in progress and so far it's looked exactly like it.
We have a lot of guards, and pretty much none of them can break down their man and get to the rim, that’s kind of an issue I wasn't even anticipating. That’s one thing, for all his faults, that Schröder could at least do, and you notice it when it’s gone. Also, having a borderline NBA player in Hayes as your only backup big is really, reeeeeally risky, I am very worried about the makeup of this roster. We also shot 27% from 3, so not much has changed there, we’re shooting a lot of them, but not making many, 11-40 last night.
That's what I am talking about here. They are generating good shots most of the time, but still can't hit many.
Some of you who are still living in the delusional world are going to have a massive rude awakening very very soon at how bad this team is going to be. AD, your star, whom you’ve given two max extensions to in just 5 seasons, has been begging for a center to play with because that’s putting himself in the best possible position to be great and succeed. And what has management done to fulfill that void? Draft two dingleberries and a chode the last two years. What’s coming is coming. Good luck to you all.
Wondering how we manage this back to back games. I think it's crazy to put anyone playing a b2b in preseason (that is part of the rotation) so I would suppose splitting the roster in 2 and play bigger minutes with each group
Awful pre-season. They couldn't have done renovations to Crypto sooner? An entire road pre-season including a trip to Milwaukee because they came to us last year and a back to back... pure insanity. If you count our pre-season travel plus early season travel, our guys are going to be tired really early in the year and not get nearly enough practice reps. We'll likely play the guys in a warm up Thursday. 9 man rotation, regular season minutes. Then shut everyone down for Friday. Bronny, Olivari, Lewis, Castleton will each get 30+ minutes.
