Maybe it is just a coincidence. In NHL Los Angeles Kings have a new coach ,one of their best players injured and now 4-1 in preseason . Expect something similar P.S. Something really strange going on with Murray. He only scored 3 points in Abu Dhabi game vs C Bags at half time
Yeah I imagine him and AD only play 3 of the 6 games. That game on the 15 is likely the one we go full roster with the others with some load management Don't mind it, more opportunities for the others to get more involved in the offense and impress
JJ Redick said the Lakers have been tracking all the data in these practices and Bronny led the way today, running 6 miles during the practice. JHS was right behind him at 5.5.
What you lack in experience you make up for with extra effort, so it’s also a positive. They are out there working hard. 6 miles of wind sprints is a nice workout.
I'm pulling for young Bronny..his dad put him in a hell of a trick bag here IMO. Man...the spotlight is going to intense on that kid.
JJ confirmed Bron and AD won't play tonight. Cam will also be out, along with Vando and Wood that we already knew.
Both Castleton and Koloko should definitely get chances to show if they can hang with the big league. Or be trending that way. Maybe Koloko’s not even here yet working?
Is this the preseason game1 thread? Just saw Coach giving Jaxson a talking to, didn't look too happy.
We really have no interior defense without AD. Really hopeful Koloko is cleared to play just to see if he can help. I imagine JJ is eager to not playing Hayes, he seems goofy on the court and is really a place where we need to improve. We came out of the gate shooting like 5 threes in a row at the start of the game, I imagine how much JJ has been pounding down on that. He also criticized the floaters we took, so the shot profile looks like absolutely critical for him Really liked Max, Knecht and JHS. The first 2 will benefit even more when Bron/AD are there and just playing their role
Loved what I saw from Max and Knecht. They are going to be really good for us this season. Max pressured full court a few times as well which was great to see. Dalton held his own in a few plays defensively which bodes well for him hanging with NBA level talent going forward. He was engaged the whole time from what I noticed, and that was my main worry. Not as much about Dalton having good technique, but no falling asleep on defense. Now the bad. Rui didn’t even seem to try on defense. He was awful. I don’t think I’ve watched a game where he disappointed me more and Ant and Randal didn’t even play. Then there’re JHS. Sorry but I don’t see an NBA player there. He LOOKS like he should be, but he makes too many mental mistakes to play in this league and can’t even shoot to make up for the points he gives away. It was no coincidence on that one play Dalton got the steal, and JHS knocked the ball out of bounds because he tried to run in the same lane as Dalton. He was making these kind of bonehead mistakes though out the game and I was surprised when he hit a shot. Admittedly he did look better than last year, but how many developmental years we going to give him? I’m not a believer.
Just like most of expected: layup line to the bucket for the Wolves. Hayes is a really awful defender. Just turrible. Castleton is robotic, but at least he knows how to use his large frame.
Expected Lineup. PG D. Russell SG Austin Reaves SF L. James PF Rui Hachimura C Anthony Davis PG Tyus Jones SG Devin Booker SF Bradley Beal PF Kevin Durant C Mason Plumlee
Really encouraging this one. We were quite good with the starters and core rotation. Tons of space and movement in the offense. I think this will be the best offense by far that Bron and AD play with in the Lakers. Which should ultimately raise their output considerably, great stuff Defensively there's some things to improve but it wasn't too bad. JJ went with Hayes and AD together for a stretch, that really catapults our defense to a whole other level. I really hope we are healthy this year, this team will be fun to watch if so. If not...we are really bad on the bottom of our roster. We knew that but damn lol It looks like Maxwell is the odd man out and hasn't been getting much opportunities. His contract is only 100k guaranteed next year, we should be able to stash him somewhere and get someone that can help
