I was like that kid, shortest in my class and some kids would pick on me, one year I went from ~ 5'1" and came back after summer and was 5'9". Needless to say, payback was a b**** for a couple of those guys! From there, I grew up I grew a whole lot, a whole inch. I was bummed because I wanted to be a basketball player and just never had the height nor the extreme athleticism to make up for the lack of height. Turns out I could roll a good doobie with a single hand, in the wind. LOL.
Let's say Knecht is really good - ala like Reaves when he took a leap 2 years ago. What is JJ going to do is if his 4 best players are AD/Lebron/AR/DK? Do you keep Rui with Lebron at PG and pray AD can stop the serious lack of perimeter footspeed? You run into the same issues with play DLo with AD/DK with the perimeter D. Gabe makes you real small. It's like Vando or bust in this kind of situation?
is the word that he's kicking butt in offseason runs or something? i live in SC and have been without power for days. anyway, if knecht is that good, i'm still not sure i don't stick with dlo. i don't like lebron or reaves handling full court for multiple possessions as a plan A. if dlo's pulling a choke job, you hope gabe is healthy or jhs has stepped up his game, imo. i'd be very (pleasantly) surprised if knecht supplants rui in general, though.
this is a pure hypothetical - haven't heard any news. Pure hopium thought exercise (that being said this draft class looks like it sucks so Knecht if he pulls off his usual MO which is to burst thru expectations at each place when he has arrived has the tools to do at least. If you can shoot and are a superior athlete you got a decent shot) Hope you're doing ok in SC and everything gets up to speed soon
got power back yesterday; we're better off than many, many others around here. it's some mad max stuff at times. not supposed to have like, full-on hurricanes 200 miles inland. but yeah, it would be cool if knecht kept leveling up. it's not impossible that he's a nba rotation player from day one.
I expect it. He should have gone much higher, many NBA peeps were saying …. and lottery - late lottery picks do that all the time.
We know Hillbilly AR and his comfort (enough) now with talking to the media .... and (similar back country) Hillbilly Dalton is no AR. Feel bad for the rookie, he's really uncomfortable up in front of the press. If he does have a good, contributing rookie season he better get used to it quickly, if that's even possible. Hopefully AR can help him out on the floor with the basketball stuff and as well with all the coming behind the microphone stuff. That Q&A with both he and Bronny up there was clearly rough for both of them.
I couldn't help but laugh at that one stretch of the presser where Bronny got 5-6 straight questions. Dalton's mic got lower and lower and lower with each question. Started at his mouth, ended up by his side. Felt bad for him, but I don't think he wanted to talk that much to begin with.
Kid (well 23 yrs old) is built real nice to go with all that skill. No way he doesn’t play big minutes for a rookie this year. Got ourselves a lottery pick right there just like with AR.
Man he reminds of Allan Houston: the 3, pull up game, and sneaky explosive around the rim. Didn't Houston go to Tennessee too? Don't know if he'll put it together but he just has a lot of natural tools you can't teach including that off ball knack to get to open spaces like a wide receiver who's good against zone coverage
Knecht needs to get minutes this season. Whether it’s expanding the rotation to 10, or playing Dalton instead of someone else, it needs to happen
