What happened to 52 wins with a better than last year’s team if everyone back with Knecht and/or Max replacing Prince …. under seriously better coaching? Pre next sensible strategic move?

I can see it honestly. Team will need time to figure out things under JJ so I can see us getting off to another slow start. Gotta hope JJ is a quick leaner and the team comes in ready to go.

possible isn’t the same as probable. These projections are likely banking on AD and lebron missing more time than last year, which is a fair gamble.

Yeah especially with both in the Olympics, I would be surprised if each played more than 60 games.

On the other hand, if they do, they are proving to still be top 3 American players which should elevate our ceiling if JJ manages to be better than Ham

    The Summer of
    [IMG]

I'll hold off on going scorched earth until the paint dries on the off-season canvas, but looking really s***ty right about now.

In terms of best case scenarios for the team this summer, EVERYTHING went their way and we have zip, zero, nada to show for it.
-Had 3 picks to trade on draft night. FAIL.
-Top 10 talent dropped to us at 17. Crowded positions and we're currently using him as a summer league PG. Awesome.
-DLO opted in, making him a trade able expiring. Still here.
-1/3 of the roster is somewhere between unplayable and a low end 3rd string player. Apparently can't dump anyone.
-Bron took a pay cut. Squandered.
-AD is the currently playing as the best American player in the Olympics. Wasted.
-JHS has a bad back, isn't a NBA player and missed a crucial summer league while a player taken after him is not only playing with Team USA Select Team but is a key component to trade negotiations for an all-star. Weeeeeee!
-Teams are out of money and there's still value on the market. Not only do we only have $40k in the bank but have zero roster spots.
-Running it back against an even better western conference. Pathetic.
-Struck out in negotiations with Portland, Brooklyn, Utah, Toronto, and Orlando. Can we get Rob some help? Samuel L Jackson played a Negotiator in a movie once, I'll take whatever I can get.
-AD desperately needs a competent backup or another big to play some minutes next to. Our answer: *number disconnected*
-JJ emphasized the importance of two-way players. We added two more one-way players.

I suppose I've just reached a level of acceptance of what the franchise is at this stage. I don't think we are well run and it starts at the top. Maybe JJ can actually help turn the culture around but it kind of is what it is until we see real change in the front office.

Absent someone from Klutch insisting on being here, I don't see a big (or even medium) size move coming any time soon.

We've entered seasons with clear roster issues before and I think there's a good possibility we do so again.

I expect us to be a fringe playoff team again with a punchers chance at making a run if LeBron and AD have another year of good luck with health. Which is a shame, as I do think the one team that really has our number has gotten worse in the Nuggets.

Starting the year without Christian and Vando is all bad. The questions about our medical staff definitely aren't going to go away any time soon.

I question our medical staff big tie right now. How can this KEEP happening, how are we this bad at rehabbing guys, letting them wait or pass on surgery if they really need it? We’ve seen this now year after year after year, Nunn, Gabe, Vando, Wood, just to name a few. Something is up here, and it doesn’t point to anything good, it makes our org look amateurish in this department along with a few other areas.

Agreed. It's tough to evaluate not being a doctor. But I still feel like I've never seen guys consistently seem to miss this much time to injuries that often don't involve a break or a tear.

I'd love to see some real data on it but it just feels like our guys go down and that's a wrap.

We don’t actually have a medical staff, Jeannie just conned the UCLA med department to hold their PT classes in the Laker facility
