I know. Great way to put it. It's on Nance to step up too and impress with what the FO and scouts saw in him as well, since he was taken earlier with the guaranteed contract. This is all like, SHAZAAM, whole new team to wash away the stench of the last 3 years, after our epic tank lucked us into Russell, a star in waiting for sure, following same last year with Randle dropping to us at 7 and the amazing pick up of Clarkson near the end of the 2nd round.
Maybe I'm just drinking the kool aid too much, but I can see these guys (Brown and Nance) becoming nice role players for us for years to come. Could be a real home run of a draft.
that was a great interview, could he start for us? 3 and d.. sort of an ideal wing player to complement kobe.
Impossible to say if he's got the talent to start, but he's saying the right things and knows his role. I like that.
Honestly I don't have a strong sense that he'll be in our long term plans. Way too early to call these things definitively, but I don't see him as much of a defender or much of anything outside a three-point shooter.
I kind of feel the same way. He MIGHT be Trevor Ariza... but I just don't know. I haven't seen enough of him at all. He's clearly got some offensive talent, but half of the 3 & D formula is unproven at this point. He's the one I have the lowest expectations of which is both good and bad. He can't really disappoint me. I hope he proves me wrong for doubting though.
I don't know anything about long term/short term but I have a feeling he's going to be awesome for us.
Downtown Tony Brown. Lovely J over top of his head and he's honest 6'8". It's going to fly in a few days....good luck in Summer League, Kid. Oh that's right, you're not a wet behind the ears 19 year old.....been doing this for awhile. Trodgers, I believe, said 44% on a whole lot of 3s his junior and senior seasons. Come on Friday already! Wes wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. Brown was an academic performer at Stanford. Nice trade.
High character player...and a great shooter with great size that can shoot over the defense. If he is not a terrible defender, there will always be a place for him in the league. Will he be a pillar for the Lakers success going forward? We have no idea. He is a role player, not going to be a star or anything. But if he can become our James Posey or Tayshaun Prince, that would be amazing.
which is not very difficult. Wes used to have a 20 point game every 10th game...in the other 9 he was useless.
I mean... If I'm totally honest... I have no idea if he'll be better than Wes Johnson. I'll gather my things while you pick up your torches and pitchforks.
Holy crap. I may have balled with this kid. I worked at Stanford for the past couple of years. Occasionally some of the giants would come play pickup.
