Spence makes the most sense and probably doesn't cost the entire thing. Just throw an extra million on his vet min amount and save the rest for buyout season.

Spencer is a better, willing defender and is a better ball handler. If we make any mid sized trade, it likely involves at least one of our three PGs.

JHS’s bulging disc sure blew his hoped for progression all to hell and/or trade value.

Lauri Markkanen is likely to remain in Utah

According to reporter Dusty Garza, clubs began to lose interest in forward exchange negotiations when they realized that they were simply wasting time.

This caused a quick resolution of the issue with teams rumored to be involved in the Lauri Markkanen trade discussions with Danny Ainge began to pivot days ago after realizing that things in Utah with the Jazz are going nowhere.

After yesterday’s big three-way sign-and-trade that landed DeMar DeRozan in Northern California, Damian Barling
    @damienbarling
of Sacramento’s ESPN 1320 says that acquiring Demar DeRozan was a focal point for the Kings headed into the offseason, but discussions started to slow down when the Kings got distracted and began to make a push towards landing Lauri Markkanen instead.

If we did that, we’d be the new Utah.

people realize that OG anunoby just signed for 5 years, 212 million, right?

don't get me wrong, lavine's a risk. but he should cost us basically zero future assets, whereas every other deal we're looking at will empty at least half of what we have to rebuild post-lebron. this big swing has probably moved into first place on my wish list. mainly because i feel like portland and bkn are probably holding our feet to the fire. i like that chicago is a motivated seller, and we're a motivated buyer. just need a third team to take some of the salary (i'd like to get enough wiggle room in a lavine deal to maybe even use the tpmle).

Defense would be s*** but then again probably no worse then with Dlo and Rui getting big minutes.
Need to definitely keep Vando with this kind of move and you bring in Dinwiddie to be the de facto PG. I'd take a flyer on Fultz with his kind of move as well.

AD/Vuc/Lebron/Vando/Knect/AR/Spence/Lavine/Fultz would be a definite upgrade on the current roster. Basically supercharges the strength of the current team by adding a lot of athleticism and size but doesn't address the concerns of getting stops. A lot riding on Vando and AD plus Dinwiddie of all people to keep the defense passable

This is the one move that would seem to give the Buss family what they seem to want: a legitimate chance to upgrade the roster while not giving up assets for the post AD/Lebron years.

we can't do this due to the second apron, i think. any deal requires us sending out more than we bring in (or the same).

dlo/rui/gabe/reddish gets the deal done, both chicago and we kick in a future second and some cash to utah or detroit to eat reddish and dlo. we then have the tpmle to spend on a player or two, i think (it would be close).

i wonder who's going to get squeezed out of the FA market this year and might be willing to take low money for a big minute spot in our rotation:

    ?/jhs
    reaves/max/bronny
    lavine/knecht/lewis
    lebron/vando/wood
    AD/hayes/?

you mentioned fultz, who i also like. tyus jones is still unsigned (doubtful but stranger things have happened).

I hate everything about it unless you get an unprotected next year and they're not doing that.

I'm still demanding a barely protected future 1st from them, top 3 protection is most I'm giving them. That's a non negotiable.

He's an always injured guard who doesn't defend. That's a bad fit with AR and doesn't address any need on this roster. Instead it creates more holes and you have to give up 5 players to create enough room to do anything after the trade to address holes.

You'd be trading DLO, Rui, Gabe, JHS and a min...say Wood. That's $10.5m extra we're clearing, giving us the collar space to use the TPMLE and add a couple minimums.

You HAVE to go out and get three names at the top of the pool

If you get Reed, Precious and Dinwiddie or Ty Jones. OK. It doesn't suck as much. Still would rather go just get Grant, figure out the pick compromise, send out more then we're getting and sign Dinwiddie then call it a day. With the Bulls one you're looking at:

    AD/Reed/Hayes
    Bron/Achiuwa
    Vando/Connect4/Lewis
    Lavine/Max/Reddish
    AR/Dinwiddie/Bronny

Is that team better than last year? I think the backcourt gets destroyed by the top 15 PGs in the NBA. I'd rather make LaVine the highest paid bench player in the league and start Christie.

i'm not vash, but i'm pretty decent on the cap. the new stuff is hard to keep up with, though. anyway, i said above what i believe is possible.

detroit's been in the business of renting space for seconds, and while dlo isn't a fit for them, they traded for bogdanovic just thinking they might get something for him later. same could be true with dlo as either an expiring or a missing piece on a playoff team at the deadline.

i think detroit still has some room left after their other deals, too.
