Having a top 10 player fall in your lap is manna from heaven. Still...this G/F room is getting extremely crowded, and we haven't addressed our need for a quality big. Add Bronny to the mix and the G/F room is overflowing.

We just drafted 2 kids last season, still have Max, Vincent, C'lo, and Austin. Rui and Vanderbilt can pay SF, if AD gets a big, Lebron is going to play some SF, he does that anyway on offense. What about Prince and Dinwiddie?

Somebody gotta go folks. I understand the sentiment, about developing some young talent, however, Austin, Rui and Jarred are young themselves, and they won't be looking ,to up any of their playing time, to develop these young guys behind them.

Lebron and AD talking about getting another star, now they are going to pivot to a youth movement?

There has to be a trade or two on the horizon IMO.

He has Bona at 40, that should be doable. Give up cash and one or two of our future 2nds.

filipowski might be able to play backup center minutes next year, too. interesting that no one bit on him in the late 1st. though i guess people start taking some wild shots there.

Curious to see how many guys drop out of the draft with a promised contract on the side, as we did with Reaves

pretty much every pick from the mid 40s on is a weird situation at this point, right? the second round is wild with the back door dealings and jockeying.

    He sounds intriguing

Maybe Rob should try to buy a pick and draft him along with Bronny

I agree. I expected a deal and moreso now. I think we target size.

btw, am i the only person who thinks the wolves took a huge risk in trading future unprotected picks (the swap is top-1 protected) for dillingham? in 2030, there's a chance anthony edwards isn't playing in minnesota. dillingham weighs 165 pounds and has a kinda weird jumper? he's athletic, he's not ja morant athletic.

they must really believe in him, as i'd have probably used those picks to get a veteran known quantity. maybe i'll look foolish and dillingham is a star. i just wasn't seeing it on film.

I was wondering this myself. I think we have a decent shot at some guys even if we can't buy into another second.

it's being universally praised, but SA needs a pg. if dillingham is that good, why not just keep him and develop him yourself? so at least one team disagrees.

Dillingham passes the eye test for me as a star. Think Maxie/Morant/Brunsen/Iverson. These guys are 25-30 ppg scorers. Could be the best player in the draft. I really wish we could of did the same trade, but Pop wouldn't deal with us anyway.

i feel like brunson is going to create a lot of draft mistakes going forward because he bucked a trend that is very, very real.

morant and iverson were stars in college who were drafted 1 and 2 in their drafts. why wasn't dillingham being considered in the top 5 if he's morant and iverson in one of weakest (at the top) drafts in modern nba history?

maxey was 2 inches taller and 30 lbs heavier when he was drafted.

all of dillingham's comps were lou williams (i can see that) and bones hyland and such (edit: saw kemba walker, brandon jennings, etc.). if he's iverson, how come no one said that until after he was picked?

Idk maybe just not as hyped up. People jump on bandwagons, etc. Also, that Sheppard kid got all the praise for his unbelievable shooting prowess, so Dillingham somewhat hidden at Kentucky. Check out his highlight reels/scouting reports, etc.

so everybody missed? i get that some kentucky guys have outperformed their college careers lately, but it's not like people weren't watching this guy very closely all year. none of them were like: this guy is going to be ja morant. no one was brave enough to even suggest it. i feel like there's a reason.

Idk, these players tend to get missed sometimes. Brunson went #33, Maxie #21, Quickly #25. Even SGA wasn't in the top ten, he was #11. Fox went #5.

yeah, true. i'd argue that aside from brunson, each had more convincing physical attributes (slightly taller, bigger, longer, etc.). dillingham's got a better rep as a shooter than any of them at the same stage, too.

i just don't see the star power there. and a lot of it really comes down to size. it's just very rare for someone that small to be a star. he's smaller than trae young, for example, who was far ahead of him in other aspects of the game, mainly pg play.

anyway, again, we'll see. i just found it super curious that overnight we went from "could be a fun sparkplug scoring guard" to "minny got the steal of the draft and underpaid for it"-- despite giving up half of what people thought was an overpay for mikal bridges.
