Latest from Stein on the assistant coaching front Obviously front of bench is ideal, but I'd even take him in an advisory role. No travel required. Then the hope is after another year, time helps with loss, he'd be willing to join in a full time capacity.
I can’t imagine dealing with the loss of a spouse. I don’t expect him to join us, but would be pleasantly surprised if he did.
i've always liked svg, and i think it'd be great if he was brought in first as an official advisor/consultant. can't imagine he's ready for the grind of being a regular on the bench. i'm actually really happy that it looks like scott brooks might be coming. lots of experience in various ways there.
Would love to see guys like SVG and Brooks on the staff, hope it’s possible. Probably shouldn’t have waited until a week before the draft to hire the coach you wanted all along, pickings wouldn’t be as slim.
Bulls looked at a couple former HCs before filling out their bench. I've always liked Nate. We haven't been linked to him but if a couple of the others don't pan out and we do want two former HCs, he's an option.
I don't want SVG as an assistant - Shaq said a lot about SVG freaking out and how it was very different than Pat Riley who calmed the team in their pursuit to win a championship in 2006. Scott Brooks, Terry Stotts, guys like this I'd much rather take a swing on. Also, don'tw ant super old 60+ year old assistants. Need them to be young but also have experience as HC's and actually winning.
Being an assistant is much less stressful than being a HC. Stotts is 66. SVG took the Magic to the finals
Then I don't want Stotts. Still don't want SVG. There's better assistants out there - totally fine with Scott Brooks
Cranjis’s comment on Hurley “may not leave after recent raise” is beyond ODD talking about assistants. Ya think?
After all these interviews we've done, what is taking so long to hire some assistants? Boy..we are sure dragging this thing out for some reason.
Hope that the collaboration with the assistant coaches he spoke of is going well today in terms of what we should do during the draft.
